The Crowne Plaza Tianjin Jinnan is definitely not bad and it's probably the nicest hotel in the area. The front desk staff were friendly and most could speak English. The room was spacious and comfortable, but it was not cleaned the first two nights I was staying there. I ended up booking a fourth night then not needing it, but I was not able to cancel the reservation the day before. This is likely due to Trip.com policies and less because of the actual hotel but was still a bit annoying.
The breakfast was good but expensive (90 RMB). They had both Western and Chinese options.
The check-in process for foreigners is one of the most simple that I have experienced in China.
