Flamingo Harbour Hotel

My first time here, and I was thoroughly impressed. Rita at the front desk was incredibly warm and attentive, handling all my questions and requests with great care. The location is excellent, being very close to the attractions. Free parking was also a huge plus. I had a very satisfying stay overall. Thumbs up!

This hotel bills itself as a high-end family resort, but it's incredibly unfriendly towards kids. The hotel's location is quite remote, with no decent restaurants nearby, making dining a challenge. The hotel's buffet breakfast, well, that's another story entirely… it left a lot to be desired. The only attractions around the hotel are a 'Science Kingdom' and some outdoor unpowered play equipment, all requiring separate tickets with no discounts for hotel guests. The nearby Guanghegu Zoo was reportedly closed for maintenance, a fact not mentioned online nor by the front desk upon arrival. **Facilities**: The lobby was passable and quite spacious. The hotel does have a few flamingos they keep, which is probably the only unique selling point. However, the rooms are tiny, and the facilities are inferior to a budget hotel – no bathtub, no minibar. The overall impression of the room was cheap. The most ridiculous part? This 'family-friendly' hotel advertises online that guests can have breakfast with flamingos, but after check-in, we were told the breakfast restaurant was undergoing maintenance, and breakfast would be served in a conference room. This is ludicrous, and there was no prior announcement online. How is this not misleading guests? Stay away! To make matters worse, the air conditioning throughout the hotel was blasting freezing cold air, making it very uncomfortable for children. At night, turning it off meant it was too hot, but leaving it on made the room frigid. The temperature couldn't be adjusted by guests, and the unit itself made a loud, constant humming noise. **Hygiene**: The room's cleanliness was simply appalling. Aside from the dusty corners, the yellowish drains in the bathroom were frankly disgusting 🤢. **Service**: For a hotel marketed as family-friendly, there was absolutely no service from check-in to check-out. In the vast lobby, there was no duty manager, no concierge, no Guest Relations Officer (GRO), and no one to assist with luggage. Avoid this place at all costs! It's not suitable for families with children. And as for breakfast, it was truly abysmal – the steamed corn and sweet potatoes looked days old; the corn kernels were rock hard 🤦, and the sweet potatoes were shrivelled and dry as jerky…

The hotel lobby is incredibly spacious and bright. Rita at the front desk provided absolutely outstanding service – she was not only warm and welcoming but also very efficient and incredibly accommodating. Complimentary parking was also a huge plus. The kids had an absolute blast, running around happily for two days straight. This is a fantastic family-friendly hotel! We'll definitely be back.

The room was really nice. We were even lucky enough to catch a clown performance over the weekend! The flamingos and cinema were such thoughtful touches. What truly stood out was the excellent living environment and the superb service experience.

We booked a deluxe family connecting suite. Upon entering the room, we were hit by an incredibly strong, sewage-like odor. We immediately contacted the front desk, and they sent a maintenance person. Even the maintenance staff acknowledged the terrible smell but stated they couldn't fix it and advised us to request a room change from the front desk. After another phone call, we finally managed to switch rooms. To add to our woes, a large group (LeChong) was staying at the hotel, which led to the restaurant cancelling both lunch and dinner services for other guests, leaving us no choice but to eat outside. Furthermore, breakfast was advertised until 10 AM, but by 9:30 AM, everything had already been cleared away. A staff member had to grudgingly bring us some eggs, steamed buns, and soy milk from the back for a quick bite. This is supposedly a family-friendly hotel; while an adult might be able to make do with a quick snack, it's completely unacceptable when you're traveling with a baby. The surrounding area was also quite desolate, with no other dining options available at that hour. We will absolutely not be returning to this hotel.
