We are just back from a Three night stay in one of their Luxury Apar**ents. We received a warm welcome and ours was available before the time given. We ate all of our meals on site, dinners are fantastic quality. The fish and chips, scallops were awesome along with the new curry options. We booked our times for our meals and spa facilities and everything ran like clockwork. The bed we had was actually more comfortable than the one we have at home and all of the staff were very helpful, we had a quick preview of the new huts that are going to be let out from June and I would imagine they will be well received with the wonderful views over the loch. If you want a break to relax and depart with a big grin on your face feeling totally cared for then this is the place !!

One of the most picturesque places I've ever been. We stayed in a Lodge room. Was very spacious and clean. Everything you need in a room. Facilities were great. Restaurant had plenty choice for all tastes. Swimming pool and gym were great. Lounging outside in the heated infinity.pool makes you feel very special. The views are had to describe in words.

We stayed two nights in classic Lodge room. Room was lovely, good size, good amenities. Could do with a dust and hoover cobwebs around the ceiling and a few dead spiders dangling. The advertised forest view was a row of a few trees and the road to the ferry. The scenery and walks perfect. The pool, gym and infinite pool were smaller than you would think. The restaurant is the main issue. The food was OK, and the prices being what they were, you would expect better. A few issue that we cancelled the second night and travelled 9 mins along the road to a pub which was superior in food and setting and feeling. Portvadie restaurant felt like a canteen, wasn't comfortable and service lacking. (Waited 25 mins for a menu). The breakfast was OK. Though if you want fruit juice good luck. They serve the juice to you but as I said above the service is lacking. Area and surroundings perfect. The service, food and a**osphere of the restaurant need improvement. I can say, I have been, but that is enough. For the price you pay to stay, the food costs and the trea**ents you just expect better quality and service. If you stay, google the Kames hotel for going to for your dinner. That was amazing!

2nd time staying in one of the lodge rooms here and excellent all round. All the staff, from reception to restaurant and housekeeping very welcoming with a smile and genuine friendliness.. Our room was spacious, very clean & well-equipped. Bed very comfortable & powerful shower. The best bit about a stay here is the fabulous leisure suite. Booked our slot (1½hrs) for use of the indoor pool, sauna with views, indoor jacuzzi & shallow pool with strong jets of water - great for pummelling your legs or back! And the dreamy warm infinity pool overlooking the rocks & coast and over to the hills opposite is just gorgeous - had to drag myself away eventually, as the sun came out. Even in cold, windy weather, it's the perfect way to relax with a cold head and warm body! Outdoor jacuzzis lovely too, and everyone watched over by a helpful pool attendant for safety. The restaurant is bright, spacious and overlooks the marina. Staffed by lovely young people who couldn't do enough for you. Food is always beautifully presented and arrived promptly with lovely fresh local produce and wonderful flavours. Breakfast has really nice buffet plus freshly cooked choices you can order too. For families, there are areas for sand play, running around, walks, otter-spotting (if you're lucky & don't get too close!) and places to explore by bike or on foot. All together, a lovely experience!

We’ve just returned from a stay at Portavadie in April. This will probably be our 5th time staying here. Unfortunately as others have said, the experience isn’t what it once used to be. We stayed in the luxury accommodation which is very nice and clean. Whereas you used to have unlimited access to the leisure facilities, you are now limited to 90 mins per day. In this visit we were really disappointed with the leisure facilities. The outdoor pool was closed on the first day due to wind. The indoor sauna was out of order and looked like it had been for a while. When we did get to the outside pool the next day, the temperature of the water was freezing and we couldn’t stay in for more than 5 minutes at a time. It’s such a shame, it used to be so warm and a real highlight of the trip. For the price changed, I wouldn’t say Portavadie is good value for money anymore.

My wife and I have used the facilities at portavadie many times and always enjoyed the out door pool and hottubs. We went for our anniversary on a windy day and had also booked a meal in tignabruich.upon entering the outside pool we wher quickly told it was being closed due to the weather. That's a left us inside in what was I feel a cold pool full of children. We went to go into the indoor hot tub for hit also be full of children which is absolutely fine the kids where all having fun. I went to use the sauna to be told it's broken but there's one upstairs which would mean me having to walk through the changing rooms and though reception and wher the cafe is to get there. We stayed for our session as we had a meal booked afterwards. I emailed in and asked if we could please have a couple of vouchers to come back and enjoy the facilities and bring custom back to them and the local area. I was told no you will get a 50% discount credit back to your bank account. I didn't want a refund I just wanted a voucher to come back and enjoy the outdoor facilities. Such a shame as it has cost the company money when it didn't have to. Dinner in fyne raja was awesome by the way

First time at Portavadie & we will definitely return. Excellent accommodation in the cottages, well equipped, cosy, parking alongside & dog friendly too. We were extremely lucky with the weather which was a huge bonus. Leisure facilities are first class with indoor pools & sauna and we all enjoyed the amazing views from the outdoor pools. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of fruit, ham, cheese etc followed by a hot option. Dinner in the Marina restaurant was superb using plenty local produce. Well done to all the friendly, professional staff at Portavadie- would definitely recommend for a chill out breakaway.
