The Tilghman Island Inn

I was frankly disappointed. Reviews were good, and maybe they’re better in peak season, but the place was a ghost town, the front desk person was adequate but not welcoming. Room was clean and adequate but not the level I would have expected for the price I paid. Not a bad place, but disappointing and overpriced for what they offer.

This is a very nice hotel. It is small, quiet and relaxing. The grounds are well kept with Adirondack chairs and other comfortable chairs around the property. Almost all of the rooms have a water view as the hotel sits on a channel leading to the bay. You can watch the boats go by and see the Osprey guarding a nest and diving for food. Our second floor room was big enough and comfortable. The bathroom and and bedroom were large and clean enough and the room had a small balcony facing the water. The only thing missing was a refrigerator but the hotel had plenty of ice available for a cooler It is outside the tourist area of St. Michael's Island so it is about a 15 minute drive. If you want a relaxing place to stay, this is it.
