Al Ponte Antico

We just stayed at this boutique hotel last week, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Aside from being a perfect location near the Rialto Bridge, the staff is extremely warm and attentive. Matteo and his wife Barbara set the tone by being unbelievable hosts, and could not have been nicer. One of our favorite things to do while in Venice was to simply sit on their patio overlooking the water and watch Venice move along. If we ever return to Venice, this will be the only place we will stay!

My husband and I visited Venice in early April. Staying at this hotel was a highlight of the trip. The location is fantastic and the owner, Mateo and his lovely wife are so friendly and welcoming. Each morning Mateo and his wife made a delicious breakfast for the guest. His wife made all the pastries and Mateo's eggs were delicious! The entire staff was amazing and very attentive. It was so relaxing to have a glass of wine while sitting on the patio overlooking the Grand Canal and Rialto Bridge. My husband and I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I highly recommend staying at the Al Ponte Antico!

Our first time in Venice was like a dream. We got the hotel by water taxi and this was the best way to reach our place and to enjoy the end of our honeymoon. Location, view from the intimate terrazza , beautiful XIV palace and people. This is the perfect place to stay! Unforgettable existence and this hotel is now our home away from home. We will be back

Fantastic hotel. Our room was large and clean with a view of the Granc Canal. The Breakfast buffet was delicious, lots of cakes and pastries, fruit, meats etc. The hotel is in a great location for exploring the city. The service from the Hotel Team is incredible, very welcoming, and better than 5 star service ! Would stay here again.

As with previous reviews the hotel and service were outstanding. On arrival we were greeted by the owner and his wife and shown around the hotel which they are very understandably proud of. The terrace overlooking the canal and Rialto Bridge is a lovely bonus and the rooms were large and very comfortable. The hotel is situated in an excellent location with shops and restaurants and the major sights within 5 mins walk but not at all noisy. I have never been to a hotel where all the staff knew our names and were on hand to help with anything asked. We had an early morning departure at 5am and the owner was there to make sure we got our taxi and to say goodbye. A wonderful, small intimate hotel with outstanding service and let's not forget the excellent breakfast.

Our stay at Al Ponte Antico was the most magical experience ever. From being greeted by the hotelier and his wife upon arrival by private water taxi they arranged for us, to the morning breakfast made to perfection by the same individuals (Mateo and his wife Barbara), I can’t wait to stay at this boutique hotel again. We enjoyed the common balcony of the hotel so much, we skipped many activities in Venice just to sip Aperol Spritz and watch all the activity at the Rialto bridge. Mateo’s staff are also amazing-GiGi and Oliver are so friendly and accommodating. I will dream of our stay here and with longing hope to come back some day soon.

We had a wonderful stay here at Al Ponte Antico. Our room was amazing , the beautiful detailed decor and the canal view that words cannot describe, I never wanted to leave the room! Book the Junior Suite with Canal View it’s incredible! The personal touches from Matteo, his wife Barbara and the staff were exceptional, they truly make you feel like royalty, gave us wonderful recommendations and were always available for anything we needed. The breakfast every morning was also amazing, the eggs Matteo made were the best I ever had, I still dream of them! The cappuccino’s, the homemade cakes, breads made by Barbara, the blood orange juice ( delicious) all the pastries were all incredible. Thank you everyone at Al Ponte Antico for an experience my family will cherish, I cannot wait to visit again!

A wonderful small hotel on the Grand Canal. The hotel was a former palace which has been tastefully restored. Location is excellent overlooking the Canal with a view to Rialto. There is a small terrace where you can have breakfast or sit and have a drink while watching the activity on the canal. Hosts Barbara and Matteo and all the staff working there are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast can be cooked to order and Barbara makes wonderful psstries, a delight. Do arrive by water taxi if you can.

Lovely hotel on the banks of the Grand Canal, looking out onto the famous Rialto Bridge. The photos don't really do it justice, as it has been beautifully restored but very much retains the feel of an old, historic building. Our room was on the ground floor, with a lovely spacious sitting area right next to the canal. There is an attractive bar on the 1st floor, where breakfast and drinks are served, and which has a terrace where you can sit outside and sip your drink watching the frenetic activity on the canal below. Breakfasts were really good. What made the hotel even more special was the team, who learned the names of their guests before their arrival, which may be a little thing itself, but was indicative of the special effort they made to make guests feel really welcome, and to help them with their needs. They made really good suggestions on things to do and when to do them during our visit, recommended and booked excellent restaurants, and were generally extremely friendly and helpful.
