šŸ‘šŸ¼Located on the high street. 4 pubs (1 was shut) 2 restaurants that I saw. Went to the Indian restaurant, curry was very nice & filling. We didnā€™t book, but they managed to fit us in. Iā€™d advise to book in advance. Nice room, (room 11) had a 4 poster bed, fridge, tea, coffee facilities with biscuits & bottles of water. Comfortable king size bed. Bathroom nice size, had a shower, but no bath. Fan in the room, weekend we stayed was warm so we used it! A few pubs on the šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼Toilet didnā€™t flush properly. Shower had no pressure, but was hot. View was off the car park. TV kept on turning itself off, also took a couple of seconds to change channel & volume.

My daughter and I have just come back from a 3 night stay at this lovely hotel. Very reasonably priced. The staff were very efficient, the room was clean, comfortable and tidy! The Italian Restaurant was amazing šŸ¤© The only downside was the Wi-Fi - Non existent. 4/5 - and we will definitely stay there again šŸ‘

I am extremely impressed with this charming and historic property which boasts a truly majestic interior with perhaps one of the most surprisingly exquisite staircases and rooftop skylights to be seen. The aesthetic is both comfortable and decadent, and given the high street location, and modest price range, I have no qualms given said service to fee ratio. I booked last minute for a Saturday night with the intention of visiting nearby monuments, and I was welcomed by an ensuite room with all the necessary amenities. Towels, shampoo and soaps were provided and the room contained a kettle, alongside teas and coffee, a hairdryer, wardrobe with hangars, a television and ample lighting. I would recommend 100%, and I hope to return soon :)

We booked this hotel as we were going to see our daughter and new granddaughter, we looked at the usual places, everything booked or too expensive. So my wife googled hotels near our daughters and The George came up in Battle. It was cheaper than we thought, was a little apprehensive, and then my wife made the mistake of reading some of the reviews šŸ˜¢, I'll be honest some of the reviews we read I thought were a bit harsh, first of all it's a grade 2 listed 18th coach house, and secondly what do you genuinely expect for the price? The Ritz? Yes its a little tired, but our room was clean, well presented and perfect for a weekend away, I mean your only going to sleep and shower there right? My only gripe was the shower, the tap wasn't the best pressure but if you've been on holiday in a static caravan, trust me you can live. I did tell the owner and he did say they are in the middle of refurbishment of the rooms which I did see. The building is beautiful and the spiral staircase is amazing (see pics) Please if your a niff noff this ain't the place for you lol, but if you're realistic, want value for money, somewhere quirky and (as I always try to do) want to help local businesses over the big chains, then do not hesitate to stay here!!!!!

Booked for my 19 year old daughter for 4 nights and absolutely disgusting. She phoned me to say her room was really bad and she felt very dirty. Told her she was only sleeping there and thought she might be exaggerating as used to being at home. She sent me photos and i told her to check the hell out of there. Definitely not fit for purpose. Don't waste your money thinking it will be OK!

Our room was spotless with white linen bedding and fluffy white towels. Awesome location and free parking. Very friendly reception. To be improved: The mould. This creates a problem for people with a lung condition. The contact details: None of the the phone numbers we tried calling were accurate. The free WiFi - When we logged in there was a charge attached to WiFi service. If indeed there is free WiFi as advertised we were not informed. Travellers tip Do not book through Hotels. Com. We overpaid. The commission charged is very high. I should have used ******* or Booking. com. Nearby: A very short walk to Battle Abbey which is a must - visit. It is also a splendid sight at night. Located so perfectly, it makes up for the fact that The George is a little tired. Do try the awesome Rustico Neopolitan Restaurant. Best pizza we've had in the UK. The lovely bakery across the street is another highlight.
