Our stay at St Hugh was fantastic. The room was immaculate, beautifully furnished and decorated and the bed was very comfy. The staff could not have been more lovely and helpful and provided us with numerous recommendations for local dining and drinking venues! The hotel is centrally located near a few nice restaurants, pubs and cocktail bars! The check in process and parking was easy. My wife and I booked this hotel last minute as we were passing through and we are glad we did. I highly recommend this hotel. Great service, family owned, high quality rooms in close proximity to good food and drinks. If we are ever back this way again, we would defintatly stay at St Hugh.

From the moment I called last minute to reserve a room, the staff and experience was exceptional. We had the 3 bed room with kitchenette which was perfect for our family. Room itself was good but bathroom had stains on the back of the bathroom door that hadn't been cleaned either before or during our 3 day stay. There was a large amount of chipped paint on the cabinet under sink and generally the bathroom needed updating. Good points, good convenient location and nice staff. Restaurant is good with excellent steaks especially if an Accor customer's discount and happy hour 5.30pm-6.30pm.

Starting with the positives ….. Townhouse is centrally located, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, reasonably well appointed and the restaurant was excellent. Friendly and efficient restaurant staff, quick service and superb steaks. We booked a standard room for two nights through a booking agent. After an 8 hour drive we arrived exhausted and keen to make our dinner reservation, catching up with our son who we hadn’t seen for several months, we didn’t pay close attention to our room. Upon our return we discovered we had ‘An Internal’ room…… the window looked out onto the hallway and the door of another guest room ….. not ideal but too late to do anything about it. We are robust travellers and we can handle small rooms but the lack of natural light made the room feel claustrophobic. After a sleepless night in this stuffy room (we could have turned on the reverse cycle heating/air con but it was right over the bed and I was getting over a cold) and with the bright green glow of the smoke detector illuminating the room (it was at the end of the bed) we decided to complain. Stating we wouldn’t have booked this room had we known it was an internal room we were told we should have checked our booking confirmation…. nothing could be done. Our booking confirmation stated we had booked a standard room, with standard amenities, accompanied with a photo of what ‘looked like’ a standard window? We couldn’t stand the idea of another night ….. checked out by 10am, took the financial hit and cancelled our second night and drove 8hrs home again.
