The Monkey Puzzle

An absolutely delightful place. Right in the city center, yet it feels like you’re in the countryside. The backyard is lush and green, with trees, raspberries, and even an apple tree – a perfect little escape. Inside, everything is spotlessly clean. The rooms are small, but honestly, you don’t need anything more – a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, and a table, all thoughtfully arranged. The shared bathrooms work perfectly and are impressively clean and hygienic. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s a cozy living room and dining area that make you feel right at home. Aggie is kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful – you can really see that running this place is her passion. Highly recommended! Thank you Aggie.

Very plain but spotless room. Tea and coffee available 24 hours in well appointed kitchen. 500 metres from town centre. The manager was very helpful.

Everything went great. But please either increase the temperature to 20 C (it was about 16-17 C inside).

Easy to get in and out Room's clean and comfortable Disabled showeroom & toilet are great Impressed with the overall stay - never visited kitchen & other rooms as only stayed for the night - was out all day. Definitely recommended to everyone and I will use this place again :)

This house is cared for with so much love and compassion. Every detail is just lovely and they keep everything clean. The stainless steel kitchen is wonderful to cook in and accessible to every guest. Rooms and beds are comfortable! The manager is just darling:) She decorates the whole house beautifully with fresh flowers and is there for you, if you have any questions or requests.

Absolutely amazing, from booking through to departure. Agnes the Manager is lovely and sooo helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful, crisp white decor and spotless. We booked 3 rooms, 2 of which had ensuites and 1 had a shared bathroom and the shared bathroom was also spotless and no issues in terms of queueing or waiting to use it. There is a lovely dining room for you to avail of the continental style breakfast if you'd like and also a lovely quaint sunroom if you'd like to eat there or have a tea/coffee. It is located perfectly in terms of easy access to walk up/down to the main square in Bunclody. We will definitely be returning :)

Absolutely LOVED this property. The place felt clean, modern and homey! 11/10! Was great to stay in the day before embarking on the Wicklow Way. Great food only 5 min walk away. Also across the road from fab supermarket.

This is a comfortable, clean, self catering accommodation with accessible bathroom and a great kitchen for the use of guests. It's in a great location on the edge of town across from shops and garden centres. Five minute walk into town centre, completely walkable, even for arthritic me. It's also just across the road from a great pub. There's also plenty of parking outside Loved it! Thanks to Agnes.

We had a great stay at The Monkey Puzzle. Everything was easy and well explained. Agnes was a great host. Our room was bright and clean. Bunclody is a sweet town with everything you need. 100% recommend.
