Awesome staff for checking in. Very nice and helpful. Yeah it’s noisy but it is the city. Not a bad place for an affordable room. Crew staying there more. Thank you.

Everything was fine, except a breakfast issue.
There were several guests and i at breakfast, maybe a minute or 2 before 6am. I heard a commotion - the breakfast lady was yelling at a man. It was 5:59am. I ignored it, and i went for some orange juice, now the breakdast lady yelled at me!!! She actually yelled, pointed a finger and scowled. She also rolled her eyes! It was now 6am. I know a few of us complained to the front desk, and i suggested, maybe keep the lights off in the breakfast room, until its ready at 6am.
The next day, hot breakfast was not ready until almost 9am. Very disappointed and I will contact corporate. I needed a hot 6am breakfast, as i was attending a 7am event. No hot breakfast until i returned at 9am. Everything else was fine. Dont let this discourage you, im sure its fixed by now.
But just in case it was swept under the rug by the front desk, it is documented here. Pic is of the cup that the front desk staff supplied us, clearly not the ones to match the lids. I am impressed that they did their best as hingry gursts were angry. Especially the ones that were yelled at the day before!

The worst experience of my life. I have never seen a so dirt hotel and the lady at the lobby in the evening was just terrible. Enrolled in a blancket, sitted on her sit she did not move in order to facilitate the check in process. The carpet in the room did not met a vaccum for a very long time. Don't stay there

Staff was great. Just really think they need to update the place. It’s a no smoking hotel but the room smelled so strong of stale cigarettes that we had a hard time sleeping.

Staff was insanely rude except for Thomas and julia, we were treated like a problem for going to the front desk WHEN OUR BED BROKE, in the middle of the night while asleep, and that's just start of it. We ended up having to change rooms three times because of various factors such as waking up at 3 am to a 77 degree room sweating profusely because the thermostat broke. My fiancee hit her shoulder hard the night the bed broke and when the manager mike said they would give us an insurance form to fill out for her to get it seen, we never received it nor were contact about it after. We have been bounced around by corporate customer support and the hotel management non stop while also being mislead and trying to get tricked into accepting bad deals so that they could refuse us compensation. Do not stay at this hotel if you value your sanity.

We came in for one night to visit UNCW. The room was a decent price. The room appeared clean. However, there was an odor throughout the building. It was hard to distinguish the odor, but it was one of “an older building” and/or “mildew”
While I was checking in, someone was asking to switch rooms due to the “weird odor” in their room.
I would stay again, if nothing else was available; however, I will look for another hotel on our next visit…even if it costs more money
