I stayed here as a stop over. It was very much a motel not a hotel. It is a row of old chalets which reminded me of Bates Motel. The rooms were the most archaic that I’ve ever stayed in, it was like stepping back in time. The accommodation really wasn’t acceptable for this day and age. It was very shabby and as a lone female traveller I felt a bit uneasy. The door was flimsy and didn’t feel secure. What I will say though is I ate in the pub (which adjoins) and their food and service was really excellent, so I spent a good while in there rather than returning to the dodgy room!

We stopped overnight after attending a family party nearby. The welcome from Holly was warm and first impressions were positive. Car park is gravel so can be challenging to walk on, especially for people with limited mobility. We had a meal in the evening and this was nice. The steak in my pie was tender and the scampi for the hubby was nicely cooked. No lighting on the path to the room wand we struggled to identify our room. Motion sensors on the lights outside the room would be beneficial. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean. Mattress was not comfortable for my liking and the pillows a bit flat. No road noise could be heard as the rooms were set back from the road. I was gutted the bathrooms had been updated so there was only a shower. Water press was quite poor so the shower was no particularly powerful. Nozzles on one of the sprays was blocked. Cobwebs in the corner had been missed. Would like the toilet paper to be on a roll which is easy to access. (It was behind when sat on the toilet) Good choice of usb plugs in the room. Room was pleasantly warm, in the cooler evening. Hubby said he could hear the units in the Kitchen area at night. I didn’t hear it until we left the room to go to breakfast. Reasonable breakfast, toast/cereals and then a full English. I would prefer a pot for my tea (that’s my mum’s influence) Breakfast was cooked fresh to order, decent bacon and sausage. Staff were pleasant. This little hotel has so much potential to be a true diamond.

We ate at the Four Alls and was not impressed with the food. It was tasteless and not worth going back again. The atmosphere layout and set up wasn't very inviting. Sorry to be so harsh but this place used to have really good food many years ago. Just seen on Facebook under new management. Hope you can improve on the current situation.

We’ve been 5 times this year and we will keep returning. The service is impeccable, the food is freshly cooked and piping hot and there is a good selection and specials. It’s a friendly, traditional pub atmosphere and all of the staff are happy and welcoming. We highly recommend you give it a try. Value for money is also excellent, the portion sizes are plentiful - we couldn’t fit a pud in on this visit but previously we’ve sampled the goods and they are delicious. Nothing is a problem for this place!

We often visit this lovely place, even though we drive about 40 minutes to get there. It is worth the travel! Everything is home made and food is amazing. Just look at this Sunday roast we had this past weekend. The pork with herbs and beautiful pan gravy. Book a table in advance, because it is busy.

This is a very homely and welcoming pub with accommodation. The staff are friendly and attentive. Stayed for two nights and the food and welcoming was so good I invited two more friends to dinner on the Saturday. There are two reviews that give bade press for this pub; I suspect they are sour grapes reviews. I found nothing to complain about and all the staff no matter their positions went out of their way to be helpful. The food on both evenings was excellent.

My partner booked 2 nights so that we could visit family. Travelled from Co. Durham to find they had no record of our reservations. The guy behind counter just shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn't do anything about it. Seemed totally matter-of-factly about. So we are left 200 miles from home with no accommodation. I am very ANGRY !! I would like to give it Zero stars !!

Visited as a large party who had all pre booked our meals. Food was okay, I’d ordered the lamb burger with chips. The chips were edible but a bit strange, we all said the same about the chips! My meal came as burger & chips, no side salad or onion rings. Service was slow & we had to keep asking for cutlery every time more meals came out. Also a lot of us had ordered dessert & we’d asked if they could all come out together, yet mine, my partners & Childs came out 10/15 minutes before everyone else’s & we’d finished ours before anyone else’s dessert had come out. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our experience this time which is ashame as we’ve always very highly rated The Four Alls.
