Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, Worcester

I surprised my wife with a night away here for her birthday and it was fantastic, the food was amazing, our room was gorgeous and every member of staff was very friendly and attentive. The hotel itself is stunning as well. We will definitely be back. :)

We took advantage of a three day deal that included a bottle of champagne on the first night, afternoon tea on the second night and a three course meal on the third night. The hotel was fairly quiet when we visited which had the advantage that we were upgraded us to a suite that had a balcony overlooking the grounds. We were intending to just have a bar snack on the first evening but having looked at the restaurant menu we decided to have a three course meal. We had eaten here a few years ago and although the food was OK it did not really stand out and we generally ate from the bar menu. I'm assuming that a new chef has changed things as all the food was excellent, we ate in the restaurant twice and I has the same venison main course as it was so tasty and melted in the mouth, we both enjoyed the crab and scallop starters and the chefs take on the back forest gateau was really different. All the staff on site were really helpful and helped make our stay special. The design of the hotel is unique as it was formally a convent with its own church to explore and has interesting grounds with a pond overlooked by a two seater swing for those Facebook photos. Hopefully it won't be as long before we are able to visit again

I ordered and paid for two cups of tea and waited and waited. I saw the staff member put the ticket up. There were very few people in the bar area or outside. After 15 minutes I went in to enquire at the bar. I explained that we had been waiting and the member of staff said he had just come on shift. I said we had been waiting and he said that's alright. I sad no it is not alright. He said he would sort it out. Another ten minutes elapsed and still no tea. I went back in and he apologised and offered a refund which we would need to request from reception. I asked if we needed paperwork and he went over to explain to reception. The receptionist was not particularly apologetic and then we waited another fifteen minutes while she tried to put the refund through. She had to put ot through manually and couldn't print a receipt so I asked her to email it. That was half an hour ago and still no receipt. Very poor service and customer service.

We went for afternoon tea to celebrate our friends retirement, beautiful hotel & grounds, really nice to walk around the Abbey. The sandwiches & cakes were lovely, staff were all excellent, very attentive, Joshie really looked after us and they did a special retirement plate for our friend which made it special for her.

Omg what an amazing Mothering Sunday lunch. Had a lovely welcome off Megan at reception and went for a pre drink in the Georges bar served from the talented bar tender Sean. Headed into the restaurant and was greeted by Joshie, Clyde, Aman, Becca and Georgia. The food quality and service was of 5 star excellence. The restaurant was full but still the team ran it like clock work. The back ground piano playing was a lovely touch. We hope Julia Hands the founder of Handpicked Hotels realises what a devoted, talented, 1st class team she has making Stanbrook Abbey Hotel the place it is. Thank you all

Party of 18 for a Saturday evening in February. From the 1st step into the hotel to leaving was out of this world. Staff welcomed us and very attentive at all times. Made a strange/funny request for a chair and without hesitation was met and made the whole party giggle. We had a private dining room and was looked after by Ellie and the team to the highest level. The dinner was amazing and all enjoyed. Breakfast was well received after the night before and again staff looked after us well. Beautiful property with the tower you can climb to get a stunning view of the surrounding area. We would like to thank you all for the best weekend in a long time and will definitely be returning

We had been to Stanbrook Abbey previously for a wedding, but my partner and I decided to have a late Valentines afternoon tea and evening here. The afternoon tea that arrived after we ordered was beyond perfection! The selection of pastries and savoury treats were superb! So hats off to Darcy and the kitchen team! I’d also like to praise Jess who was so helpful upon check in with us, full of information and great chat. We went out for dinner but when we returned we had a coffee and a chat with the Bar man Joshie who was funny, smart and extremely professional and all staff where smart and so proud of workin here. The superior bedroom We stayed in, which was a Kind upgrade, was beautiful and spotlessly clean, the housekeepers do an amazing job! So on the whole we had one of the most amazing times in a long while at Stanbrook Abbey congratulations team! We will be back soon!

Absolutely stunning location and hotel! We stayed last minute due to a dreadful letdown at another establishment and we were not disappointed with this stunning facility! The full handpicked experience is truly to be found here just make sure you have enough time to fully enjoy and appreciate all that is on offer, due to work we were rushed and that was the only disappointment of our stay! We stayed in the Cardinal suite, with stunning furniture and facilities a large patio balcony and views that are like heaven on earth! The bed has the very best linen and is superbly comfortable - like sleeping on a huge luxurious cloud - it was amazing! The two bathrooms were exquisite luxury bath and double shower - it was simply perfection! The food was delicious evening meal amazing and the scallops cooked to perfection! The chef added all those special touches and is extremely skilled! Staff - this is a handpicked hotel! The staff are “handpicked” they are a delight, every single member of the team is professional, kind and caring! They know their professions and they perform with kindness and interest! If you haven’t stayed at a “handpicked hotel” be prepared for a real treat, if you have stayed at a “handpicked” you are still in for a real treat! This is definitely one of their best! Our only disappointment is we were working, we didn’t get to spend the time enjoying the facilities that we would have loved, so we will just have to go back and take another look! Enjoy! This is one of the finest establishments in the country!
