At 2:30 AM, the guesthouse owner personally picked us up in a four-seater electric buggy. Five minutes later, we were dropped off at this quaint, classically charming little house. The narrow staircase, worn with age, led us to the second floor where our room, 'Lìqiū' (Start of Autumn), awaited. Despite being utterly exhausted, the moment we opened the door, we were captivated by the room's ambiance. It was evident that every corner and every piece of decor reflected the owner's meticulous care, exquisite taste, and unwavering pursuit of aesthetic living. The seemingly casually placed pottery might have been carefully sourced antique pieces, still bearing the patina of time. Dried branches in a corner, artfully arranged in a rustic ceramic vase, cast sparse shadows under the warm yellow light, forming a spontaneous, artistic composition. Various artworks adorned the walls, clearly showcasing the owner's artistic eye, as they are a painter themselves! There's no forced luxury here, yet every detail speaks of a meticulous, uncompromising approach. From the patterns on the smallest teacup to the precise placement of furniture designed to perfectly frame a glimpse of greenery outside the window, every detail silently conveys: this is more than just a place; it's a spiritual sanctuary the owner has created for themselves, and for those who appreciate it. If you linger a while, you'll feel the warmth emanating from every object here. They quietly accompany guests, conveying the owner's heartfelt sincerity of 'treating guests like friends,' even though they may not be verbose. What a pity we were in such a hurry, and couldn't savor its tranquility and beauty more!

This may be my favorurite hotel of all my travels so far. It’s set in an authentic Qing Dynasty building in a beautiful, quiet village. In the evening, the hostess picked us up at the village gate with a lantern, and when we arrived there was tea and a fireplace waiting in the lobby. The rooms are beautifully designed, and the hotel is full of cozy sitting areas, tea tables, and small corners to relax, you really feel immersed in old China. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, as were their house-distilled rice wines. The next morning, the hostess gave us a guided walk through the village and then arranged a driver who turned out to be more of a guide. He took us to several villages and stunning viewpoints for the rest of the day and again the following morning. January is a wonderful time to visit if you come well before Chinese New Year: the area is very quiet, and you get a real sense of everyday local life. It is cold, so dress warmly. The rooms have heaters and heated blankets, but the other areas of the hotel—and in the villages themselves—are unheated. We will definitely come back.

Best hotel I have stayed in in China. All of the staff make you feel very welcome, the food is excellent and the actual building and rooms are beautiful. Teacher Fan showed me a great cycle route and allowed me to borrow a bike. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sixi !

This is the best and cleanest B&B I've ever stayed in. The owners, a middle-aged couple, are incredibly down-to-earth and offer excellent service. The place is spotless. Breakfast was plentiful, and dinner was delicious too.

A treasure of a hotel, lovely! Small wooden structure beautifully decorated. The service is excelent, one lady speaks English and the guy can easily communicate via wixin. They arranged a friendly driver to pick me up and show me around other villages. I used the bike to go to 2 villages nearby, nice landscape. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel, all delicious and good price. Thank you for having me, hope to come back soon! As it’s a wooden house, I don’t recommend bringing kids as will disrupt the peace of other guests.

Fantastic experience. I wanted to see rural China and this is a beautiful spot. The history of the house is incredible dating from the 1800s, Qing dynasty. The couple running the homestay are very helpful and gentle .The food they prepared was very nice (breakfast included in the price). I had only a vegetarian Chinese dinner at the end of the day. They offered local tea and homemade liquor. I spent two days visiting the surrounding villages arranged by the homestay which was a great choice, I believe. on my own I'd have been very difficult and inefficient. The third day I took the bicycle (they've got a few) and explored it on my own. Really, really recommended.

I went to Wuyuan on December and stop by coincidence at this place while walking in Sixi. It was beautiful. I came back again to Wuyuan and planned to stay here now in Winter. It was great! Sixi es a good base if you plan to wander around the north line, which is less touristy. The hotel es really beautifully designed, the staff was lovely and helpful and the food was delicious. A lot of the stuff we ate was homemade: soymilk, furu (fermented soybean curd), preserved vegetables, rice liquor.
