Matterhorn Focus Design Hotel

We arrived at this hotel in summer 2023 off the Glacier Express. A little hotel shuttle bus/truck collected us. My husband had a bad tooth ache .The receptionist was fabulous. She booked us in and informed us that she would arrange a dentist in town as it was now early evening. The next morning as the two dentists in Zermatt were on holiday she had arranged an appointment at the nearest but this was 2 hours away on the train. Both girls who served us on reception were lovely , so helpful and enquired each day how my husband was doing. He needed an extraction and abscess draining. Ok so the hotel itself was lovely. The view we had of the Matterhorn was spectacular. Our room was lovely. Bed comfy. View fabulous. We had a welcome drink to greet us as we arrived. We had some excitement as we arrived as they were building a new cable car structure and a helicopter was flying in construction equipment. The hotel has a lovely bar and a lovely area for breakfast. And although no restaurant you could still get some food, rolls , cakes and snacks. The pool was lovely with an inside and outside pool, not huge but fine. There was a terrace where you could go and sit. And a downstairs lounge area with a fire area in winter and just a welcoming cosy area for summer. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The walk into the lovely town was great. We walked literally down the road the first day after we arrived to a lovely Italian restaurant. Service and food very good. I do have to point out that there will be a few rooms now in the hotel which has the new cable car structure in its view. This is probably unfortunate for a few rooms in the hotel but needs to be pointed out. The smaller established cable car is also literally just round the corner so very convenient. The hotel was a little up hill but i did not notice the walk being too much of a problem . There are electric buses which we used a couple of times and we had a taxi once but the walk is a pleasant one into town weather permitting . Take your time and take in the beautiful town. Fabulous hotel we would have no hesitation in booking here again if we are ever fortunate enough to revisit Zermatt.

Perfect place to relax , trail .. breakfast at the hotel is top .. and what about the spa after a long train in the mountains 🏔️ Then a cocktail and ready to discover the village for food or shopping. Cocktails 🍹 : Hugo ( cheap but really good )

Topnotch hotel for skiing: beside gondola and ski rental shop. Ten minute easy walk from the Zermatt Center. Outstanding, charming service by absolutely everyone. Wonderful breakfast, spotless, beautiful pool. Nothing is missing. I’d go back there in a heartbeat!

Perfect team .. perfect view .. perfect place .. well what can I say? The design of the hotel is pretty nice (futuristic) and the pool with an inside and outside parts are perfect for relaxing. Did I have to speak about the breakfast ... a really nice buffet with a good cappuccino .. :)
