The hotel is a bit old, for example the plaster is coming off the ceiling on the terrace. The management needs to be changed, nobody feels responsible. The housekeeping was very good, tried very hard (I even gave them an extra tip). The staff in the terrace cafe were rather unwilling. The breakfast is definitely not up to the standards of a 5* hotel, old rolls (at least from the day before), old toast, little choice, rather uncaring, but the staff were extremely friendly and tried very hard. The food in general is borderline (room service). At reception I was snapped at by a male employee when I asked a question, that was borderline. The view over Alger is great, however (make sure you book a sea view). The service in the bar on the E floor is also poor, the selection of drinks minimal. The wine is undrinkable. Acceptable for business trips, but I wouldn't spend a vacation in this hotel. Regarding Algeria in general, I would like to say that the people are extremely hospitable and polite, the food (outside) in the restaurants (except for once) is very good and inexpensive, taxis are very cheap, they are just not luxury cars (reminds me of the early days in Dubai in the 90s). A tip for a day trip at the end: Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania, the restaurant next to the mausoleum has wonderful seafood from the charcoal grill.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The first time, I already noticed the UNPROFESSIONALISM at the reception desk. You ask for the price, quickly go to the currency exchange, only to find out that there are two additional charges (some kind of surcharge + tax)...so you have to go back to the currency exchange...communication is definitely not their strong suit 🤬 Service in the restaurant was excellent, cleaning was quite okay (which I find very strange: there are NO TOILET BRUSHES in this hotel! Please disinfect the glasses/bowls & spoons in the room, as the staff only rinse them with water...therefore, danger of herpes!!!). During my second stay, I truly lost my temper, as I was woken up both days because of the UNPROFESSIONALISM of the reception (including the management)...both times, there was no good morning, but rather yelled at to come to the reception immediately to correct errors that were the fault of the reception staff. I ask you to wake someone up on the day of checkout because the employee didn't calculate the taxes, and when you then ask, half asleep, ”How much money am I supposed to pay?” and get the answer ”I don't know”...it truly takes your breath away how brain-dead the reception staff actually are, INSANE🤯 Afterwards, I found out that their tax calculation was even wrong...truly beyond words... Reception ZERO, the rest of the hotel crew gets 3.5 out of 5 from me. PS: I can recommend the standard rooms...the larger rooms are definitely not worth the money!

L’hôtel un peu loin de tout (20 min minimum à chaque fois) la communication entre les selon les services ( personnel) est un peu compliqué. Dans l’ensemble correct

⸻ J’ai passé un excellent séjour à l’Hôtel Suisse à Alger. L’accueil a été remarquable dès mon arrivée, notamment grâce à la réceptionniste Célia, dont le professionnalisme et la gentillesse font toute la différence. Toujours souriante, attentive et disponible, elle a su répondre à toutes mes demandes avec efficacité et bienveillance. Grâce à elle, je me suis senti immédiatement à l’aise et parfaitement pris en charge. L’hôtel est confortable, propre et idéalement situé, mais c’est vraiment la qualité de l’accueil, en particulier celui de Célia, qui rend l’expérience exceptionnelle. Je recommande vivement cet établissement !

I was injured on the plane and arrived at the hotel in a wheelchair. He gave me as much support as possible, such as changing rooms and responding to emergency response in the middle of the night. Un très bel hôtel, un Acceuil très sympathique. Tout est très propre … il faudrait un petit effort sur le petit dej, meme si pour moi ça suffisait . Café croissants pains au chocolat pain ….

Très beau séjour en famille dans cet hôtel ! Il est très bien situé, la nourriture est très bonne , petit déjeuner varié ! Merci à toute l’équipe de l’hôtel que ce soit: les réceptionnistes de jour et de nuit , les dames qui s’occupent de l’entretien , leila qui nous accueille tous les jours avec le sourire pour le petit déjeuner . Vous êtes tous formidables , professionnels , tres respectueux et à l’écoute . Très belle hospitalité Algérienne. Je reviendrai !
