The staff were very helpful even though it was nearly the end of the season. My room on the first floor (no lift) had an electric kettle and mugs, a small refrigerator and a hair dryer. It was a double room with a balcony. (I was on my own but there is no discount for single occupancy, but this appears to be normal everywhere). The room might seem small to some, but I found it's compact design, including large walk in shower, separate wash basin and separate toilet, very acceptable. Maps of the island and the town are provided in reception. The guest house is very close to the town centre, a short walk down a little hill and you are immediately in all the little streets that run down towards the port and front. There are many cafes and restaurants on the front, just be aware you will always pay more to drink or eat at these and there are plenty of bars and restaurants just a little inland. Think twice about hiring a car because the bus service is excellent. NB This is for Trip.com: you were not very helpful when I received a message regarding opening times for reception, which meant my flight would arrive too late in the afternoon to get into 8Kto. I used your live chat and was told to use the 8Kto number to which I could never get a response. I tried live chat again and was assured that you would find out what I should do before my arrival date (mid-September) - you never did. Using the net I finally found an email address for the guest house and they immediately responded to my message, giving me instructions on how to get in and find my room when I arrive. Surely you should have been able to give me the email address in the first place, especially as you advertise your service as always giving immediate support to travellers.

It was so nice to have a swimming pool in front of the hostel. Antique accommodation, bathtub and distance from the main street, quiet and calm. It's a little far from the main, so it's a little inconvenient to go to the market. A little unfortunate in terms of cleanliness. But the scenery of Matteora was so exciting that it was okay.

L’hotel, recentemente ristrutturato, si trova un una posizione eccellente per visitare Skiathos e godere della giusta tranquillità senza dover rinunciare alla comodità dell’essere in centro città. Il personale è attento e disponibile. I servizi sono ottimi (piscina, bar, colazione). Le stanze sono spaziose e curate seppur con qualche piccolissimo neo. Fantastica la vista dalla terrazza in cui si fa colazione. Non potrei non consigliare questo hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Amalia. The highlight of our experience was the exceptional service from Alexandra at the reception. She went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed, kindly accommodating our request for two single beds and arranging our transfer to the ferry terminal, dinner suggestions etc. The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety of fresh options, and the service throughout our stay was warm and welcoming. Considering the price we paid, the hotel offered excellent value for money. We highly recommend Hotel Amalia to anyone visiting Skopelos and would gladly stay here again. Loved the location, the villa and the management. Our villa had a beautiful balcony view over the lake and a wood fire inside a well as central heating. The owners were super kind and friendly. The hotel villas are in a very remote location high in the mountains and that's what we loved about it. Stunning scenery all around, it was beautiful. Dinner was available at the hotel but we wanted to go for a drive. We had coffee and a light meal at Plaz Pezoulas which was about a 15min drive away. The shower was hot and breakfast was nice. The owner gave us 4 bottles of water for our drive upon checkout which was very thoughtful. 10/10

Tourist trap. Very poor value for money. The hotel is outdated, rooms are small, and key facilities like the saunas were not working. Staff were not helpful and at times rude. They charge extra for almost everything. I booked a Mountain View room but was told on arrival that this is different from a “Meteora View” and requires an additional fee — misleading and clearly an upselling tactic. Overall, overpriced for what you get. What a welcome we received when we arrived after hauling our cumbersome luggage up the hill to the hotel from the bus stop. We were met by a lovely member of staff who gave us cold towels and refreshing juices. The hotel is certainly quirky and has the charm of a mountain chalet. The outdoor bar/ sitting area is a great way to view some of the huge rocks/ mountains of the area. The staff member there was also very friendly. Breakfast was okay, but again the staff were ready to assist. A short walk into town and you'll find any number if great restaurants.

We absolutely loved our stay at Yalis Hotel. Everything was wonderful — a lovely swimming pool area and, above all, the most amazing view over the sea. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was very comfy. The buffet breakfast was delicious, with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit and freshly baked pastries every day. The location is also very convenient: you can easily walk to several restaurants in Votsi, as well as a small beach nearby. The setting is beautiful and relaxing, and it was the perfect place to stay in Alonissos. We would happily come back!
