The room was incredibly spacious. Although it's a bit of a walk from the station, the soundproofing is excellent, so you won't hear any train noise at night. There's a convenient store nearby, and the hotel even offers a thoughtful Happy Hour with complimentary drinks and snacks. The breakfast was delicious, and I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
The hotel is very close to the station, with a 7/11 downstairs. The area is lively, a hub for restaurants and malls, yet surprisingly quiet – a peaceful oasis amidst the bustle. The room size is generous for a Japanese hotel, and the facilities are modern and well-maintained. On the 11th floor, there's an open-air onsen with complimentary Yakult and cold drinks, and free ramen is offered in the evenings. I had a very satisfying stay and highly recommend it.
First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine.
After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy.
Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude.
Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others.
Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀
A good hotel close to Nagano Station, though it's still about a 10-minute walk. They offer a buffet breakfast and even room cleaning (despite what was stated during booking about no cleaning for stays under 3 nights). Essential amenities are provided, including a hairdryer, kettle, mugs, toothbrushes, and so on.
Downside #1: It gets cold inside during winter, so you have to turn on the air conditioning for heating.
Downside #2: The outlets don't charge European laptops, even with an adapter.
Downside #3: The Wi-Fi periodically disconnected.
Shuttle bus service from Nagano Station is a bonus!
Close enough to attractions by car, parking is abundant paid 1000yen for 2 days parking. Breakfast spread is pretty good.
Only down side is that the hotel is slightly old.
Absolutely stunning! The hotel itself is a resort. It's beautiful, clean, and the service is excellent. We rented bicycles at the hotel and cycled to Old Karuizawa, the wealthy villa district, and a park with a pond (I can't recall the name). After that, we hit up the outlet mall, which is super close by. So many brands and great deals – it was a shopping paradise! They even have my favorite coffee shop and a sashimi spot there. We had such a blast, I definitely want to go back in the autumn.
Located in Fujimi, MORINO OFFICE LIVING is a great base to explore the city from.
At this country house, you'll also find facilities including a bbq and garden. Staff at this property's front desk can speak 2 languages, including English.
Parking is available at the property.
The best thing about this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. You can see the JR entrance right from your room, which is perfect for those catching early morning day trips (many tour groups meet right by the JR ticket gates). Plus, when you return in the evening, you're right by all the restaurants at the JR station.
The room itself is quite small, but the breakfast spread is excellent.
This was a last minute selection on the train from Tokyo, but the right one. It's a short 5 minute walk from the Nagano station and has spacious rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful, but best of all, on arrival you are given a welcome drink and dessert of your choice. The entire place seems to be obsessed with desserts, to my liking. They also provides free ice cream and upon check out, bags of candy and cookies. Maybe it's a Christmas promotion, but a welcome surprise. The breakfast is a bit expensive, but has a nice selection of food choices, including salmon, more desserts, and various Japanese food. I only stayed one night, but I believe they have an onsen and other amenities. Well worth it. I stayed in other hotels in Nagano, and this one was superior.

Great
I am a solo traveler who stayed in the room with private open bath. I enjoyed my 2 nights stay. Hotel looks tired and old but it was all good . Btw, you have to use a key to open the door not access card. I paid for my room with breakfast and dinner. I have a private dining space in a restaurant which I like it. Skip all queue and I dine at the same place for all meals. Dinner was great. Breakfast spread was wonderful too. I tried the one hour jap massage and it was so good. There isn’t anyone who can really speak English. The guests are mainly locals. There is free shuttle to check in and check out. Overall I give 9/10!!
This is our first time to ski Japan. This hotel was located perfectly with great access to some super beginning facilities. Good enough about skiing, the hotel is perfect and the staff is amazing. The food and amenities are excellent. We had a private hot spring every evening really added to the enjoyment. My wife and I and eight year-old daughter had a great time you so much for the great experience and all the hospitality Perfect Stay. 100%!!!
The hotel is really clean and quite spacious. The Airconditioning is centralized and we were there during winter so it’s on heater mode. The location is probably around 8-10min walk to Nagano station. They have coin laundry in the first floor. They have 2 pillows per bed, one firm and one soft.
The hotel located in good location, with walking distance to the city center area where you can find shops, restaurants, or even Matsumoto Castle. Parking lot provided with fees but it’s quite convenient. The most favorite from this hotel is there’re plenty of amenities – shampoo, conditioner, shower gel from a lot of brands that you can select by yourself at the lobby.
Thank you very much for your hospitality this time. Although I checked in late, I was very satisfied with breakfast the next day, as well as the hotel cafe and sightseeing. I had a wonderful time at Mampei Hotel, a place I'd always wanted to stay at. The room was, of course, meticulously cleaned, and the staff were all polite and professional, as you'd expect. This is a hotel I'd like to return to every year, and would also like to recommend to my friends. All the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
The house is near Omachi Station and a half-hour drive from the cherry blossom-viewing village of Ogawa-go. The host was very welcoming, introducing us to his extensive collection of furniture and sculptures from China upon entering. The house has a library, a dining room, a small shop, a hot spring pool, and the hallways are decorated with meticulously curated paintings of historical architecture. The rooms are clean and have bathrooms. Each room sleeps two, and at just over 600 NTD, it's a great value at just over 300 NTD per person. I'd love to stay here again next time I'm in Nagano!
I had a large tatami room with side sitting area and sink as well as an ante-room. I had three delicious Japanese meals at the ryokan that were served with polite elegance. The two in-house onsen baths were a joy to use after a day of skiing. The staff was knowledgeable about how to get around by the buses and suggested the best restaurants for days that I did not eat at the ryokan. Senshinkan Matsuya was situated in the center of.Shibu Onsen town next to three of the public onsen. I could not ask for a better stay!
We spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere. I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience. The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery. The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge. Was I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!
(+) Nice private onsen pool/ room that you can use alone for 30 mins Pingpong and karaoke room Warm blanket and nice heater (-) The receptionist at night can be more friendly. Theres mold on my room ceiling
We stayed at Karuizawa. The accommodation was reasonably priced and comfortable. They have various room types, but we chose a ryokan-style room which involved sharing a bathroom, but there were plenty of facilities and it was very convenient. Regular rooms also have private bathrooms. It's conveniently located for walking to nearby attractions. The only thing we didn't have was hot water. They actually have an onsen (hot spring), which would have been perfect if it had hot water especially with the single-digit temperatures like that, I highly recommend it to anyone interested.
