"The breakfast was plentiful, and the location was super convenient – easy to walk to the old town and the train station. The front desk staff were also quite friendly. My only minor complaint is that on the second day, nobody came to change the towels, empty the trash, or replenish the tissues."

"It was about a 8 mins walk from the main train station with some mild upslope. Take note there’s a flight of few steps going down to the hotel. However the rooms are so intricately designed with good amenities! They also gave free water, beer, and soft drinks in the mini fridge. Bed and pillows were comfy. One of the top hotels, if not the best, in Bratislava!"

"I stayed for 3 nights. My main reasons for choosing this hostel were 1. it has a kitchen: as I’m going a lot of travelling I cannot afford to eat out for every meal so made breakfast, prepared lunches and dinner. The kitchen was clean, modern, fully equipped. There was free coffee (beans and coffee maker) , tea, sugar. 2. location: needed to be convenient to the bus station (15min walk) and the historic centre (5-10mins walk). The hostel was easy to locate. The neighborhood felt safe to walk around and shops are near by (including Tescos). Right next to tram station, though I never needed to use it. There are also some very interesting second hand / vintage clothes shops in the street. Check-in was easy (24 hour reception). I was offered the opportunity to pay the 10 euro deposit by card or cash. I paid using a 20 euro note, got change ok and the money was left in my key slot thus easily returned on check out. The reception staff smiled and greeted me when walking in and out, perhaps because I did to them. I stayed in a 6 bed mixed form with en-suite. You choose your bed on a first come basis , though have a key for a specific locker that was large enough to fit my carry on luggage. The room felt spacious and even had table and chairs. Room and en-suite were clean. The beds each have a power socket and small shelf fixed to the wall though no individual light. You pick up bed linen at reception, make your own bed and put bedding in laundry basket when checking out. The pillow was lumpy and could do with being replaced. Sleep quality was good except one night with a very loud snorer (reception gives earplugs for free). It is winter and the room was nice and warm. The room has 2 ceiling lights. An area of improvement would be to be able to switch each light on/off separately. The wall of lockers separates the bed area from the entrance and en-suite door and it would be useful to be able to only turn on the light there. The en-suite was clean and warm (it is November). The shower water was not hot enough for my personal taste but it was not cold. There is an additional toilet and shower room in the corridor for additional use. The corridor also had a fridge. The laundry room is free: has washers and driers but need to buy detergent. It was my plan to stay in and do all my laundry on my day of arrival and I was grateful that I decided to do that rather than do laundry at the previous place. It saved me 9 euros. WiFi is free and reliable. When staying in a shared space the experience is greatly influenced by the other people who happen to be there at the same time. Everyone I met was friendly. The people sharing my room were always respectful of each other. Lights out in the room tended to be by 10pm and when coming in later than that it was possible to turn on the en-suite light and open the door to provide some light to get ready for bed without disturbing others. It was quiet in the room and the only ‘noise’ came from some late night loud voices in the corridor from others but it only lasted a few mins. The soundproofing is not sufficient to block noises from other areas, follow the advice on signs and report to reception if necessary. It is nice that the hostel seems to not tolerate noisy people disturbing others. I was traveling as single female. In the 3 nights the dorm room was never fully occupied, had 8 men come and go staying for a day or two, and I never felt uncomfortable in the hostel or neighborhood. This place is good value for money, comfortable, and I would definitely stay here again."

"First off, the location is super convenient, with a bus stop less than a ten-minute walk away. The room itself is very spacious, not cramped like some other hostels. There are plenty of shared bathrooms, and they're very clean and private (individual stalls, no need to share a big open space). The front desk is on the basement level, so if you're staying on the third floor, you might have a bit of a climb. This could be a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage."

"This is my first time in Bratislava so I was a bit worried when I realized I would be arriving hours later than originally planned, and that the reception would be closed (closes at 10pm). The very nice person who messaged me about my arrival at Hostel Folks/Folks Hostel was kind enough to check me in, leave the key on the desk for me, and send me instructions for how to get in and which room & bed were for me. I found it all easily, and was impressed by the positive energy and the cleanliness. Also, my room (6-bed room) was HUGE! All of my luggage fit into the locker, and the bed was comfy. The showers and toilets were clean, the kitchen nice and neat, and the room with all the tables is ample in size. I would 100% return to this hostel if I ever have the opportunity to return. Oh, also, there is a stack of maps on the reception counter, and a vending machine in the common room."

This is a beautiful hotel literal steps away from the sites or Bratislava. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt very relaxed once in the hotel. The view from the street and lobby make it seem like there isn't much but once we got beyond the ground floor (in a diamond shaped elevator) we really appreciated the atrium. There were plenty of spots to sit including some large bench areas where you could enjoy the sunlight and brightly lit areas. The room was a good size with plenty of space and storage cabinets to keep our things. They had a coffee station, mini fridge and desk area. The room was comfy and quiet. The wifi was also very strong during our stay. We had a minor issue with the curtains because they got stuck and did not offer complete coverage. The bathroom was good and we appreciated the rainfall showerhead. They had an all in one shower gel so you may want to consider bringing your own products. There was a towel warming rack too which was a nice touch. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and there were some nice healthy options. They had plenty of fruit, yogurt and some nice breads. We also appreciated the eggs, bacon and cheese. The breakfast spot is on the bottom floor and serves as an extension to the restaurant Koliba Kamzík Zelená which has a few locations in Bratislava. We had a very good lunch at the restaurant which included pierogies, cabbage soup and a garlic soup with cheese. The hot sea buckthorn drink was very good too. The lunch was probably our best meal in Bratislava and if you're a member of the hotel's Aplend club you can get discounts on several items. The location was good for us and we were a very short walk away from many restaurants, souvenir shops and cafes. The Town Hall Square is about 100 meters away from the entrance of the hotel and we found many of Bratislava's attractions a short walk away from the hotel including St. Michael's Tower, Cumil and the whole Old Town area. The bus and tram stops are a bit further of a walk but we found the bus station and tram station by the UFO Bridge to be pretty convenient during our stay.

We absolutely loved this space. The apartment was large, the kitchen area well stocked with cutlery/diahes, fantastic water pressure in the shower, and a great laundry facility (two washers and dryers) in the lounge. There is a cafe and grocery store downstairs, which is where we bought our breakfast and dinner supplies. Overall, we highly recommend this place and hope we can return in the future.

My partner and I have just returned to the United Kingdom after having a trip to Europe, the final destination of our travels was at the very beautiful and picturesque hotel. The hotel is very well situated to river and minutes away from the Old Town. The interior is beautiful and the decor clearly reflects the reason why it’s a highly rated hotel. Our room was situated on the second floor and there is a lift for those who overindulge in the cuisine or infamous Slovak wines 😁 the staff are all smarty presented in their appearance and polite, the breakfast is varied and it is self service even the hot/cold drinks, so please bare that in mind if you’re mobility is restricted when dining in the restaurant for breakfast. The only negative I can recall, and this is no reflection of the hotel, the hospitality or staff as it was “other guests” having no consideration for guests still in their slumber or at least trying to be. Guests would allow their room doors to slam closed and guests would talk loudly on the corridor throughout the evening/night/morning. So next time I’d probably request a room on the top floor to avoid the inconsiderate guests 👍

It is an excellent place to stay. A few minutes from the city centre, it is quiet, warm and it has the advantage of being close to the castle. WOW- I was completely amazed by how clean, modern, confy, and convenient the hostel was. The beds all came with a separate locker section (operated by card key) and multiple shelves, and my compartment was able to close off using pull-down curtains. One of the things that stood out about this stay was the check-in and out processes, as they were fully automated and did not require staff intervention. I was able to swiftly do them. The staff were also very kind, and there seemed to always be somebody at the front desk, as there was a member at the front desk even at 5AM. One thing which might be improved are the bathrooms, since the floor is almost constantly wet from the shower section on the further end side of the room. Overall, I am very satisfied by the stay and if I were to visit Bratislava again, I would like to book here.

Overview: nice and super big rooms! Location: centrally located, 10-15 mins walking distance to most attractions like Bratislava Castle, Old Town Hall, Michael’s Gate etc, tram stations just within 2 mins away! Breakfast: good choice, particularly impressed when they extended the ending time by 10 mins on a Sunday as there were a lot of new guests the night before who might not have been aware of the ending time! Service: nice and friendly staff! Cleanliness: spotless from what I can see which is nice! Rooms: I thought I was staying in a flat for a second, super big and roomy, with sofa, a separate living area, impressive! Facilities: good gym, but the sauna costs a bit which is unexpected (and rare, consider it is a decent 4*…) so didn’t use it, and the lobby was a bit dim when I checked in at night, but not a major issue.

The breakfast was plentiful, and the location was super convenient – easy to walk to the old town and the train station. The front desk staff were also quite friendly. My only minor complaint is that on the second day, nobody came to change the towels, empty the trash, or replenish the tissues.
