After about a 1.5-hour drive from Kunming to Huaning, I stumbled upon an amazing hidden gem - a hot spring resort where you can happily soak in the hot springs with your kids, swim to your heart's content; they even have private baths indoors, allowing the whole family to comfortably lie in the water and gaze at the stars! Moreover, the water quality here is superb, it's a pure natural self-flowing hot spring, so hurry up and check it out~ 📍Location: Huaning Elephant Trunk Mountain Hot Spring It's only a 15-minute drive from Huaning County 🚗, and the entire hot spring resort is surrounded by lush forests, with a view full of verdant greenery and air so fresh, the environment is like a secluded paradise. 💦Play: ✔️You can happily bring your kids to soak in the hot springs and swim. There are a total of 16 pools on the hillside. All pools are filled with natural mineral water, and locals say the water is drinkable and suitable for bathing, which is a source of pride for Yuxi residents. We even saw babies as young as seven or eight months old playing here~ ✔️There are also more than ten bathhouses, each with its own private pool and small courtyard, spacious and comfortable. We stayed in a small villa with our children, and their joyful laughter while playing in the water was continuous without disturbing others. The best part is that the back of the house is a lush forest, where you can hear birds singing joyfully during the day 🎶, see lively squirrels jumping on the branches, and at night, gaze at the brilliant stars in the sky, which is incredibly romantic! ✨If you come with your family or friends, you can also play mahjong, enjoy a steam bath, and sip tea, which is truly comfortable. ✔️Behind the resort, you can barbecue and camp; you can also take your children to make handmade pottery. The master will help fire it and then send it home, giving the kids a piece of art they created themselves, an amazing experience~ ✔️Near Elephant Trunk Mountain Hot Spring, there's also a pottery village called Bowyao Village, where you can take your kids to experience pottery making and learn about the Huaning pottery process, which is very interesting. 🥕Eat: The rooms include a buffet, with a very rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes, and the taste is quite good. It's recommended to try the local Huaning roasted bait block and thin bean flour, super delicious~ The restaurant is open all day for ordering, and if you don't want to go all the way to Huaning County to eat, you can try the local black medicine steamed meat, sausages, organic vegetables... 🏕Stay: In addition to the bathhouses, there are more than 60 rooms, and all guests can enjoy the hot springs. However, I recommend the Shenshui Residence we stayed in this time, with 2 rooms, a large living room, and front and back yards. In addition to our family of four, I also brought my grandmother and younger uncle, and it was quite spacious and comfortable. Families with multiple children can add extra beds like we did~ 🌿The water quality of Elephant Trunk Mountain Hot Spring is truly top-notch. We went for a soak at 10 am when they opened, and the sunlight sprinkled in the pools, which were free of any impurities, clean and transparent, truly deserving of the local name 'divine water'. It's at most a 2-hour drive from the main city of Kunming, and on the way back, you can also stop by Fuxian Lake for a while, simply perfect!
