The hilltop palace in Thailand

Phanakorn Siri Historical Park, located at the commanding height of Kao Wang Mountain in Phetchaburi city, was built under the supervision of Rama IV in the mid-19th century and used as a royal palace. The palace and building complex blend elements of European, Thai and Chinese architecture and decoration. In the exhibits of the palace museum, one can clearly feel King Rama IV's admiration for Western life, with the majority of daily necessities being of Western style (even including a complete set of bathtub and matching equipment). The entrance fee for the scenic area is 150 baht per person. There are two entrances, the east entrance is for walking up the mountain, and the west entrance is for the cable car (50 baht round trip). The mountain trail is well maintained, although slightly steep, but it only takes about ten minutes to climb up. After all, the highest peak in this city is less than 60 meters in relative height. Apart from the exhibits inside the palace museum, other areas are free for photography. Although there are signs all over the scenic area reminding tourists to be aware of monkeys, they mostly gather in the two entrance areas to find food. There are very few monkeys in the mountain area, and the hot weather in Thailand makes the monkeys seem rather lazy.
