Koh Yao Yai Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort and Spa Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Santhiya Resort, Phuket
This resort is amazing for family, nice ambience and vibe. Lots of amenities including kids play area where kids can enjoy for hours.
Best part for this resort is the SPA, there are various promotions for couple to relax in the woodsa and enjoy the spa and message by trained Proffesionals.
Also this resort offer the villas to stay which include the private pool. Overall amazing experience.
Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa
The Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa is very spacious with a lot of activities such as Thai dancing, Muay Thai, island tours, kayaking, paddleboarding, Thai massage, spa, fitness, kids club, cooking classes, yoga, etc. If you're staying, I recommend at least 3 days and 2 nights so you can try a variety of activities. There seem to be 4 restaurants, each with a beautiful view. The rooms are clean, fragrant, and the beds are very comfortable. If you're not booking a private villa, I recommend the upper floors of the 4-5 story buildings, which are close to the central swimming pool and the breakfast room with a beautiful view. We got building 3 which is a bit of a walk, but buildings 4 and 5 are almost no walk at all. The breakfast is quite varied, and the quality, quantity, and taste of the lunch and dinner meals we had at the resort are worth the price. The service is excellent, with every staff member being helpful, smiling, and greeting nicely. I was impressed from check-in to the check-out where they waved goodbye until we were out of sight. I give it a 9/10.
I really recommend it to friends.
📍If you want to go to the beach or the fitness center, you need to use the shuttle service because the resort is very large.
Overall, I'm very impressed and would love to come back and stay here again.
We were in Santhiya last year. We really loved the resort and enjoyed our vacation. The rooms were clean and beautiful. The service was great as well. The breakfast was amazing and they had various options. The view from our room and where they served the breakfast was fantastic. Overall we enjoyed our stay. There’s nothing I can complain about. We definitely will go back !
Fabulous Holiday Destination in Santhiya, Phuket✨🇹🇭
This is definitely the best resort I have ever been to! We stayed in the resort for three days and two nights and the service, view and amenities were all incredible!
Once we arrived our room, we were amazed by its scenery. At the balcony, there was an outdoor bathtub and we could enjoy the sunset and the sea view while dipping bath. As Santhiya is located in the woods, we could see wooden structures and miniatures everywhere in the resort which are exquisitely designed.
There is an infinity pool located in the resort too. The pool is surrounded by sea view which creates a feeling that we were swimming in the sea without boundary! One of the most relaxing thing is that we could order drinks and enjoy them at the edge of the pool. Both view from the infinity pool and our room is beautiful. It is difficult to choose where should we stay during sunset.
The breakfast and dinner buffet is also beyond our expectation! For breakfast buffet, there are a lot of choices and we can enjoy the breakfast by the sea with a five minute session of free massage provided. For dinner buffet, the choice is a bit fewer but the quality is amazing, especially the grilled seafood which is super delicious! Also, the environment is romantic.
I can’t describe how much I love this resort and I can’t wait to stay here again in 2024! The price is also reasonable, only 2500 thb (breakfast included) during non-peak season. I hope to be back to Santhiya and I can experience that activities such as Yoga lesson and Thai boxing in 2024!

Anantara Koh Yao Yai Resort & Villas Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Koh Yao Yai | Anantara Anantara Hotel
Koh Yao Yai | Anantara Anantara Hotel
Secluded place around Phuket Island - Anantara Koh Yao Yai
The hotel, which opened in August 23, is located on the island of Koh Yao Yai, off Phuket Island. Booking for two nights or more includes airport pick-up and speedboat. Take a speedboat from the private pier on the main island of Phuket for 40 minutes to reach the hotel. The stay was very lucky, the 90-square-meter sea view suite was upgraded to a 170-square-meter lagoon pool villa
The room is so big that there is an echo when speaking..
Several good aspects of staying here:
1. Quiet, although it is also a parent-child hotel, there are few businesses nearby, the hotel area is large, and there are not many people wherever you go
2. The hotel is very new, without any old and damp feeling
3. The public area garden is very well done, and it is very comfortable to walk
4. Close to Hong Island, convenient for travel
5. The staff service quality is there, basically responsive, and will greet when meeting
6. The restaurant performance is rich, there is a resident singer and fire show every night
A few dissatisfactions:
1. The private beach of the hotel has average water quality, and it becomes a large tidal flat after ebbing
2. The food is not delicious, the breakfast choice is okay but not delicious, there are three restaurant choices for dinner (Thai, Western, Japanese), excluding drinks 200-400 yuan per person, not expensive but very average, the bar by the pool The cocktails are also hard to drink. The overall feeling of dining is only that the ingredients are up to standard, and I don’t know how to cook at all
3. Facilities often have problems, have experienced water heater failures, toilet blinds can't be pulled down, it really shouldn't be for a newly built hotel
4. The service response is slow, it takes ten minutes to call a car to the front desk in the villa, and it takes a long time to help move the luggage to the front desk when checking out
5. The overall staff training has not been done well, many staff are not very smart

there is plenty of staff to get you in and out efficiently.
food was prompt.
place is clean.
indoor and our door sitting.
the eatery is a michelin star rated restaurant running for the past 4 to 5 years.
my favorite part was that it wasn't too expensive.
Reasons to go to Thailand again: Eating
Go on a trip to a place, and the reason to go again? Eating will definitely occupy a spot in the top three of the list.
✅Street vendor
Going to Thailand and eating street food is a must-do. The food may look a bit dirty and messy, but it is absolutely delicious. Pad Thai, red or green curry, mango and papaya salad, and other dishes are the basic skills of Thai chefs. I have been to several night markets in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, which are basically tourist canteens. The kind of food that makes you think about the next meal after finishing the current one.
✅Mom's homemade dishes
Mama Seafood seems to have become a phenomenon, that is, mom's recipes are the most delicious. On the island of Phuket, there is a mom's private kitchen called Baan Rim Nam Restaurant, with a history of more than 10 years. TATA, the owner,'s mother cooks in the kitchen, and all the diners are tourists who come specifically for the food. The restaurant is packed every day.
✅Snacks
The variety of snacks is countless, and the most impressive one is the curry noodles that Teresa Teng liked to eat. In Chiang Mai, you can go to the restaurant she ate at, Kao Soy Nimann, to find out whether it's delicious or not by trying it yourself.
When traveling to Thailand, you can choose to take a cooking class. For 2500 baht, you can learn to cook three dishes with all the ingredients provided. It seems that mastering cooking skills should be a good way to make a living in Thailand.
✅Understand local customs and practices.
Eating is a great opportunity to learn about local customs and culture. I went to a seafood restaurant called "Mom's" on the way to the pier on Phuket's Long Island. The boss is a very capable and beautiful sister who handles everything from cutting vegetables to cooking all by herself. Her two nieces run the floor, two little girls in school uniforms serving dishes to customers, and their smiles left a very unforgettable impression on us.
💰Eating in Thailand is up to personal preference, ranging from 20 baht to 2000 baht per person.
