I planned this vacation for quite a long time and combined it with Raja Ampat. We've been to this area before on a liveaboard and we knew the dives we were expecting. Not disappointed. Ranging from an hour with a myriad of rays to 30 minutes with a 5 meter long oceanic, and finding blue-ringed octopuses at sites I've never seen. Everything is there. Of course diving in the rainy season is like that, we are just as wet on land and at sea, but the boat crew and dive crew try to make them able to please us and the other guests. We couldn't ask for more than this. In fact, I feel they went so far as to bring in a local guide for us, at their expense (we're really slow divers). The food is great, so are the restaurant staff. Indonesian food for lunch, Italian dishes for dinner and anything or both for breakfast. Considering you're in the middle of nowhere, this is pretty amazing. The accommodation is also better than our expectations. I suggest you pay a bit more for a room with air conditioning. It's not perfect, but on certain days when the temperature feels like it's about 40 degrees outside, it's fine. Helps repel mosquitoes at night too. One more thing. You have to find time to walk all the way to the top of the island. The view is amazing, the photos cannot match this beauty. Overall, this trip was great. Stephano the owner is very intentional and makes sure all guests get the best service. Roberto, the stream instructor, was amazing and had a trillion stories to tell. Anke is our divemaster, currently a freelancer, but Stephano would be furious if he didn't get one. We rarely visit the same places, but this place seems worth another visit during the dry season. Better prepare from now on Once upon a time I've been to this place and it's amazing the arrangement of the bungalows is very luxurious but has a traditional feel.
