Zhaoxing Miao Village

Located south-east of Guiyang, Guizhou province - Zhaoxing is a small village nestled in the hills surrounded by rice terraces. Characteristic of the Miao ethnic minority, small wooden buildings and narrow alleyways dominate this small village, with the occasional spire marking areas where locals get together to play games like mahjong or cards in the evening. While the town has been refurbished for tourism, the town is a great place to walk around and explore while the surrounding hills offer an aerial vantage point from which to enjoy the unique architecture.
