7n Homestay is a seaside B&B located in Qing'ao Bay, Nan'ao Island, Shantou City, facing the sea to the north and the mountains to the south. The designer used 'the sea' as an element, refined design symbols, and extended them throughout the space. Through different constructions, textures, and features, they created a distinctive and unique seascape room, allowing guests to fall asleep to the sound of the waves and feel 'poetry and distance' in comfort and freedom. At the front desk, an art storm themed around 'the sea' is about to unfold. Using a technique of holding back before revealing, with the texture of hand-painted lacquer and pure tones, the space is imbued with tranquility, creating a sufficient contrast for the richness and diversity of the upcoming seascape. The smooth flow of movement opens a new chapter of the space, completing the visual distinction with various styles of transparent views. The creation of a circular skylight brings natural light into the front desk area, linking the light from the corridors on both sides, promoting the recirculation of indoor airflow and brightness, reflecting the integrity of the architecture. The structures covered with red clay output naturalness. The elegant curves allow the gentle hurricane of art to continue sweeping through the local space. Outside is the noisy sea, inside is the tranquil harbor. We can resonate with the space anytime and anywhere, shed social attributes, dance freely with the waves, or fulfill the commitment with ourselves in the surging environment, maintaining the order within. The design aims to amplify the true perception, bringing people to enjoy the present tranquility. The curved shape that rises from the ground to the ceiling, along with warm lights of various directions, gives a comforting sense of enclosure. The design, through the harmonious coexistence of various materials, leads people to unlock new dimensions and developments of the space. The earth-toned stone tables, seemingly solid objects, are actually flowing art, tightly connecting people with nature. The bathing area and sleeping area have no barriers, maintaining the smoothness and interconnectivity of the floor, with the wall and ceiling shapes mimicking the surging waves. The 'wave' structure, larger than the average human size, constructs a wonderful experience of being in the waves. Targeting functional areas, adding warm light not only forms an interactive mood but also harmonizes the cold and warm atmosphere. Subverting the conventional combination of curved and straight elements, following the aesthetic principle of combining strength and softness, using a semi-transparent framing technique, the boundless scenery leaps indoors while also carefully protecting the privacy needs of the residents. Evolving the curved partitions that do not touch the ground, organizing the primary and secondary relationships between the washing area and the leisure area, brewing a quiet weak light atmosphere, filtering out noise and worries.
