Fabulous day trip from Perth to Cervantes

The western coast of Australia has lots of amazing natural scenery. First time visitors could consider making it a 1-2 weeks holiday by driving along highway 1 starting from Perth. If time is limited, a short weekend trip or day trip is also a good getaway. We did just that for our day trip from Perth to Cervantes. Our journey started from Perth and lasted around 10 hours. 1. Perth to Two Rocks via Yanchep - 1 hour - we made Yanchep our first stop and bought some snacks and drinks at the supermarket. We then headed north along the coast and drove 10km to reach Two Rocks Beach. On the hillside overlooking the beach stood a 6m tall statue of King Neptune with his brilliant smile. You can easily walk up from the road and even climb up to his palm for a fun photo shoot! 2. Two Rocks to Lancelin Sand Dune- 50 min drive- this route along the coast is simply relaxing as there are very few cars on the way. The sand dune is on the right side of the road we moved North. Park the car near the entrance and there are a couple of trucks that rents sand board 🏄 for only $10 per hour! Definitely a fun activity for families and friends. Those who want a bit more adrenaline can also consider ATV! 🚙 3. Lancelin to Pinnacle dessert- next on the route is Pinnacle Dessert which is again 50 minutes north . Entrance fee per vehicle is AUD$13. This is a more relaxed activity as you can pretty much stay in your car, only getting off whenever you spot an interesting rock 🪨 for photo! There is a short and longer route, but as we were already starving by now, we opted for the shorter route which took about 30 minutes. 4. By now, it should be closed to lunch time and another 20 minutes drive (20km) will take you to Lobster 🦞 Shack in Cervantes. This is a fairly sizable establishment by the waterfront. Aside from being a lobster restaurant, it also has a 30 minutes lobster factory tour in the shack just next to the restaurant. Reservation is recommended. The restaurant has plenty of seats outdoor and indoor, but just beware of the hungry seagulls that may come around for a bit of your lunch. Restaurant starts to close around 3pm so do not get there too late. Have a rest ( maybe even a nap) after lunch and take your time driving south toward Perth.
