The National Museum of the Przemyśl Land

The National Museum of the Przemyśl Land is housed in a new building built in 2008 on the site of tenement houses destroyed during World War II. Inside the over 100-year-old museum boasting the largest collection in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, it is worth seeing exhibitions devoted to sacral art, the Przemyśl Fortress and other temporary exhibitions. The museum was established in 1909 on the initiative of local social activists as the Museum of the Society of Friends of Science in Przemyśl. The National Museum of the Przemyśl Land is a multi-department institution. Its collections include over 200,000 exhibits in the field of archaeology, history, numismatics, art, ethnography and nature, over 3,300 deposits and various auxiliary materials. The library attached to the museum has a collection of 40,000 books, including about 100 manuscripts, 400 old prints and 600 cartographic items. #poland #muzeum #przemysl
