The Empire of Mist: Oasis in the Desert

It's Mogao Caves, it's Maijishan, it's Longmen Inn, it's the vast desert, but I never thought that arriving in Lanzhou for the first time would feel like entering the final empire of 'The Son of Mist'. Lanzhou·Gansu The sci-fi dusk, the whole city is soaked in silent dust, and chimneys are everywhere. The road from the airport to the city winds around the mountain, factories and buildings seem to be embedded in a large sandbox, we only advance with the rising gases in the chimneys. The setting sun often hangs between the mountain shadows on the road, there are no trees on the mountain, it's as neat as a ridge drawn by a child. The sunlight sometimes covers the earth with a filter of memories, as if the next frame is about to immediately cut back to the past. Steam punk, 20th century, industrial retro, extreme beauty Rad, frontier poets, end-of-the-world movies, all hinting at a seemingly different world. Yellow River Iron Bridge As expected, traffic started to jam when we descended from the mountain into the sandbox, returning to the human world in blocks. By the time we reached the Yellow River Iron Bridge, it was completely dark, and the Yado Building in the distance cut down red neon lights like a blade. The lights on the iron bridge and the mountain are exquisitely luxurious, shining brightly from the low-key of the entire city, truly giving a sense of floating in the air. The commercialization of the scenic area is quite standardized, but the range of products sold is very limited, which reminds me of the memory of being stunned by the main food on the street when I was full of expectations to go to the northern snack capital Kaifeng. In the following days, the delicious food is still the known specialties, the barley and malt added in the milk tea shop, sweet fermented rice, all kinds of small sprouts mixed with hot oil. Lamb, okay, but Ningxia is more delicious. Maijishan Grottoes Maijishan may be the destination that has been planted for the longest time. It was planted when I was a student reading Liang Qichao's History of Buddha Images. I always feel that it's a wish that is always a step away but never starts. It's so beautiful that it's worth the trip, a visual feast for all ages. The gentlest birth, the most peaceful worldly heart. The surrounding mountains all have perfect lines and layers, the Buddha and the sky are in perfect harmony, no matter how you convert spiritually, you will believe that they indeed exist with the heaven and earth. Compared to the pleasant water in the south, what paradise, may have nothing to do with the northwest. But the echo of being human is so magical, no matter what era, where, you will see the non-existent pure land, find the power of life blooming in its call, bloom, go to the long term.
