At Oirase Keiryu Hoshino Resort, you can sleep in, soak in the water, and eat to your heart's content, enjoying nature in a relaxed and comfortable way.

"Hoshino Resorts Oirase Keiryu" is the only inn located within the Oirase Keiryu area. If you want to fully enjoy the Oirase Keiryu, Hoshino is a great choice. This Hoshino has a large number of rooms, yet it's very popular with foreign tourists. Therefore, it's necessary to book 2-3 months in advance to avoid missing out on your desired dates. I booked too late this time and missed the peak autumn foliage. The Hoshino Resorts, like large international hotel chains such as Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt, have a certain standard, but compared to traditional Japanese onsen ryokans, they lack the personal touch and homey warmth. Therefore, if it weren't for the fact that it's the only inn within the Oirase Keiryu area, I probably wouldn't have chosen it. Even so, the Oirase Stream is very long; walking from the hotel to the central "Kumoi no Taki" takes about 3-3.5 hours. However, don't worry, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus to major attractions like "Kumoi no Taki." Just be aware that the last bus departs at 3 pm in winter, so check the schedule carefully to avoid getting lost. 👍 Advantages: 1) Spacious rooms; easily fit two large suitcases and enough room to roll around on the floor. 2) Welcome drinks are served daily from 3 pm to 6 pm. Besides coffee, tea, and juice, there's also sake from the local Hachinohe Brewery, apple wine, and apple cider—all three are excellent. The Hachinohe sake, in particular, is a Daiginjo sake, yet it has the sweetness of a Junmai Daiginjo, comparable to Dassai. Sake lovers shouldn't miss it. 3) Apple Kitchen (buffet) is definitely a highlight of Oirase Keiryu Hoshino Resort. Dinner includes freshly grilled steak and scallop seafood platters, peeled sweet shrimp, raw scallops, salmon roe, three types of apple juice, and freshly baked apple pie – you'll eat until you're stuffed and still not want to leave. Breakfast features a variety of fresh and dried apples, apple tea, apple salad, apple sauce, freshly made French toast, scallop ramen, etc., giving you a great start to the day. 4) After soaking in the hot spring, there are free popsicles available. Although I found the popsicles just so-so and tasteless, they're better than nothing after a hot spring bath. 👎 Cons: If there's any drawback, it's probably the price. The scenery was disappointing because I visited in late autumn; the leaves had all fallen, there was no snow, and the sun set early. The only memorable aspect was the food; the rest wasn't as impressive as "Lake Towada Prince." Additionally, the large number of rooms and guests, mostly Taiwanese and Asian tourists, might make it feel like being in Taiwan, lacking a sense of tranquility. 🚌 Transportation: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to Hachinohe Station, a journey of about an hour each way. You can reserve the free shuttle bus directly through your booking confirmation. 🏞️ Attractions: The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to Sanran no Nagare, Ishigado, Ashura no Nagare, and Kumoi no Taki. Service is daily from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM from April to October, and from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM in November. During other months, due to snow and ice, the shuttle bus will not operate. Further upstream from Kumoi no Taki, accessible only by JR bus, it's recommended to stay one night in the Towada Lake area to explore the upstream section and another night at Hoshino Resorts to explore the downstream section, thus completing the entire Oirase Stream trail.
