Built on the hillside, Hongling Village is surrounded by thousands of ancient trees such as Taxus chinensis, Liquidambar formosana, and Cinnamomum camphora, enjoying a rich natural environment. Following the principles of sustainable development, the design aims to maximize environmental friendliness and resource recycling, minimizing the traces of renovation. Making full use of the site's existing materials such as red clay and rubble, combined with traditional construction techniques, creates a simple and dynamic multi-dimensional landscape that harmonizes with the atmosphere of the entire village. With an integrated design of landscape, architecture, and interiors, the ancient village achieves a diverse yet unified value balance between 'authenticity' preservation and 'driving' development. In the historical and cultural research of Huizhou, the village culture has invested a lot of time and effort, delving into the traditional residential forms. The reconstruction and restoration of old houses in different locations involve many construction challenges. Collaborating with local craftsmen, the traditional construction techniques of the Huizhou architectural group are explored with utmost craftsmanship, protecting and restoring the exquisite architectural brick carvings and wood carvings. The residential buildings also follow the main thread of ancient village culture, adhering to the regional folk cultural characteristics. On the basis of protection, they make full use of the remaining idle production and living materials to reproduce the local folk culture. The 'Sunbathing Autumn', a farming custom widely distributed in northern Jiangxi, is uniquely represented in Hongling Village through its unique mountainous architectural form and the colorful and orderly harvest scenes, forming a unique calling card for Hongling. Local industries such as agricultural products, intangible cultural heritage crafts, and traditional planting create new employment for the original residents, supporting a stable, original ecological community model.
