Xi'an is a city where ancient meets modern. In the square, you will see the old mighty city walls and Bell Tower. A short walk away is the Drum Tower, Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque. Everywhere bursts of heritage, history and culture. Visit the Giant Wild Goose and Small Wild Goose Pagodas. For a bigger dose of history, visit the local museums. I only managed to get a ticket to the Shaanxi History Museum - Qin and Han branch (not the main flagship museum with a larger collection of artefacts) but their collection and curation are already very impressive.
