Chongqing is usually called Shanghai of the west and you can easily understand the reason for this. Breathtaking and huge megapolis that still has an Eastern fleur and really slow and chilled lifestyle. Getting There - Chongqing is very easy to get from every big city of China. This is one of the biggest cities in the world with the population about 30 million people Attractions - 1. Ciqikou Old Town. A nice place to walk, buy souvenirs and try local dishes and snacks. You can easily spend there the whole day. The territory is not huge like Lijiang old Town but it's still nice. 2. Nanshan mountain and the sunset platform. Costs 15 yuan and has a great panoramic view on the city center 3. Liziba station. Have you seen the videos and pictures of the train getting through the building? that's exactly the Liziba station. 4. Cable bus above the river. Used to be a real public transport transferring people from one side of the river to another. Now it's one of the main tourist attractions in the city Hotels - Try to stay as close to Jiefangbei square as possible. I stayed at the Move hotel. Here's the Chinese name TheMove江景酒店(重庆解放碑洪崖洞店). Can definitely recommend. One of the best hotels in the area Food & Restaurants - When you come to Chongqing the only food you need to try is a hot pot. Hot pot places a basically everywhere. And yeah if you've been to Chongqing and didn't try the hot pot you haven't been to Chongqing. But be careful with the spice 😉 Shopping - 1. For the souvenirs - definitely Ciqikou Old Town. 2. For luxury brands - Jiefangbei square. I'm pretty sure that everyone will have something to do in Chongqing.
