The Zigong Lantern Festival must be what it looks like when the Heavenly Court celebrates the New Year

This year, I was invited to see the Zigong Lantern Festival again. Every year during the Chinese New Year period, a dreamlike and bustling lantern city suddenly stands in this small southern Sichuan town. The design of this year's lantern sets is also very impressive, with splendid pavilions and vast waves, finding many themes from traditional culture, and expressing them romantically with modern materials and technology. The sight is dazzling but not chaotic, with giant objects in jubilation, as if the Heavenly Court is celebrating the New Year, a kind of sophisticated color scheme belonging to Chinese tradition. But you should know, those pavilions, mythical creatures, figures, and exotic flowers and plants in the pictures... they are all lanterns, strictly speaking, lanterns. Now it's very convenient to go to Zigong, just 40 minutes by high-speed train from Tianfu Airport. I think everyone should take the time to come and see it, after all, it represents the highest level of lantern-making technology in the world.
