Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Monkey Business
What an experience visiting the Pusat Pemuliharaan Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Seeing three momma Orangutans 🦧 traversing the trees and feeding their babies is a truly special thing to witness.
The Orangutans are free to roam and can leave the forest when needed. As for the orphans they are kept and taught how to survive in the forest before being released!

Short Vacay At Sepilok
Having fun seeing the monkeys that we only can see at Sepilok Sandakan. it was an awsome experince.
If you wanna come here have to check on the monkey feeding timetable so you will be able to see the monkey.
need to put on your sport shoes to come here, cuz its a far walking into the jungle. also need to be quite while the feeding session, cuz the monkey is afraid of strange noise and they might scared and not come to the feeding place.
however its a fun experince. we come during the after pendemic, so the cafeteria is not available yet, so ear first before you come to visit. cuz no food allowed in the jungle ya.
Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre
Basic Hiking spot in Sepilok Rainforest Discovery Centre and also for those who want to
challenge yourself for long canopy walk, this is the best forest nature place to visit. Approximately 3 hours to 4 hours to complete the visit and walk.
The entrance fees is very affordable for the centre to
keep the nature and forest reserved.
If you are lucky enough, you will able to spot the beautiful and unique birds and forest reptiles. But, always be careful.
Take a deep breath and enjoy your walk in the very green forest and it is a good exercise for me as well.

Abundant Wildlife @ RDC
Went on a night walk at RDC (Sepilok, Sabah, MY) and saw amazing wildlife! Flying squirrels, normal squirrels, pit vipers, slow loris, drongo bird, kingfisher bird, scorpions. The sounds of the forest are incredible and the guides really know where to look! Be prepared with long sleeves and trousers, a good torch (not always necessary), water, and mosquito repellent! When you see and hear all these things, it makes you think about the plight of the area in terms of human involvement. So much good going on in Sepilok to help the local wildlife though 💪👏
Sepilok Forest Edge Resort Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
HIDDEN GEMS - SANDAKAN FOREST NATURE RESORT
The best place for meditation and self-reflection if you love green nature, here you go, the Forest Edge Resort is one of the best places to stay in Sepilok. I choose this place because I’m staying in the concrete city everyday and I need to refresh both my mentally and physically and i am looking for a natural, jungle retreat which only 2.50 minutes away flight from Kuala Lumpur.
I dated my three girlfriends and we go for the stylish eco-chalets are made with woods that have been recycled from Chinese houses. Furnishings are tasteful and rustic and have been inspired by Malay culture. 2 bedrooms that occupied 3 single beds and 1 queen bed. The best experienced I had is rain shower in the open area viewing the greenery and listening to the birds and nature sounds.
The 1st time in my experience I slept with the real rainforest sound came from unknown multitudes of insects stridulate so loudly that the air nearly vibrates with their calls. Clear, flutelike birdsong rings out between the rhythmic chirps of unseen frogs, pounding out a steady beat from the forest floor. I wake up with fresh air and really feel good.
Highly recommended if you need a forest escape.

Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre
This center is located in the Malaysian state of Sabah, near the city of Sandakan. The center aims to help orphaned animals, baby orangutans who are left without parents or grown up in captivity adults. As you know, this species of animals suffered the fate of being on the verge of extermination by poachers, however, Malaysians are fighting for the fate of orangutans, who were unable to live in the wild.
Visitors can watch the feeding of animals, which are scheduled to gather near the viewing platforms. There is also a tropical forest on the territory of the center, where you can walk along the trails and try to see rare animals and birds with your own eyes.

Superb Sanctuary for orangutans in Sepilok!
Visit Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary for up close viewings of these amazing animals! Come for feeding time at the platform (10am) or go to the nursery (9am) and sit in an air conditioned room whilst seeing orang utans of all ages and sizes! You can fit both in timewise too! The feeding is optional for the orang utans as the centre is in the rainforest with no boundaries. It is used as a training centre for orphaned young orang utans. Bring a camera, water and spend all the time available here (open till 12noon for morning session). Lots of people leave after the 10am feeding but you can see them for as long as the place is open as there's lots of food for them. A thing not to miss!
Great
Beautiful place, well looked after animals.
