AAlexandraI traveled to Athens for a business reason. The room was in the center, spacious near shops for coffee and food. It provides paid parking right next to it, so you don't have to look for a place. The service is amazing and the staff is very kind!! I would definitely choose it again!!!
GGuest UserIt was a really pleasant stay at the Brown hotel. Excellent location, really kind stuff. Room was clean and warm. And the manager Stive is there to make a difference in the positive way with all his help. Enjoy
GGuest UserVery clean apartment with wonderful views, bed was very comfortable, tea and coffee facilities in the room and a tv. The breakfast was varied and filling with excellent service. The staff were friendly and very helpful with a taxi service which was superb. We would definitely return for a lovely, quiet relaxing stay. It is a littleâout of the wayâ but definitely worth the stay .
TTom KrakowiakWe had a great stay at this hotel. Our room had a balcony and was nice and clean. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the main attractions. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the blinds didn't completely block out the sun.
JJtownAthens Airport has long been my gateway between Ireland and Israel, and Sofitel is the only real comfortable option for an overnight layover. The location is unbeatable â you just walk out of the terminal, cross three zebra crossings, and youâre in the lobby.
The hotel is definitely 5-star and feels it in cleanliness and comfort. The room was spotless and quiet, and I appreciated the complimentary coffee and water. However, prices are steep. Normally itâs around âŹ400 per night for two adults and a child, though I managed to book midweek for about half that. Still expensive, but I wanted comfort â and got it.
The booking didnât clearly confirm if an extra bed was included for my child, and neither Trip nor the hotel replied to my message, though we did get the bed in the end without extra charge. Breakfast is not included in the high price, and âŹ30 per person felt excessive, so we skipped it. Also, food options are overpriced â âŹ22 for a âGreek saladâ that oddly came with ricotta. We ended up getting Burger King from the terminal, much better value.
The indoor pool was clean but the water was colder than expected and the size modest. The shower had fluctuating warm water, a small annoyance but tolerable for one night.
Overall: great convenience and comfort for an airport hotel, but pricing for food and extras feels unreasonable.
AAnonymous UserThe front desk staff, especially a young man, provided excellent service with very good English, making communication a breeze. The hotel is incredibly close to the Acropolis, just a 5-minute walk away. For airport transfers, it's about a 15-minute walk to Syntagma Square, where you can catch the X95 bus directly to the airport. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants near the hotel in the direction of Syntagma Square, so you won't have to worry about finding food. The only downside is the adult store downstairs, which is a bit of an eyesore. The rooftop is accessible anytime, and you can enjoy illuminated temple views at night.
GGuest UserThe facilities are a bit old, and the cleaning was a bit perfunctory. However, the breakfast was abundant with a good variety of options. From the 8th and 9th floor restaurants, you can catch a glimpse of the Acropolis in the distance, as well as the Aegean Sea.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located just a 3-minute walk from the metro station, making it very convenient. It is also easy to take the train to the airport from there. We had an evening flight and arrived at the hotel after midnight, but the self check-in process provided by the hotel was clear and convenient. We were pleasantly welcomed with tasty candies in the room, which was clean and modernly decorated. It also provided all the necessary items we needed. Overall, we had a comfortable stay.
GGuest UserThe biggest advantage of this apartment hotel is that it is in a good location, located in the city center, walking to the market, monuments, subway stations (40 minutes from Metro Line 3 to the airport), downstairs is full of lively restaurants, super convenient. The room is very large, a family of three and four are no problem, the facilities are complete, you can eat like a home, the hotel provides a variety of breakfasts, overall it is good. The only downside is that the surrounding area is too lively, and the restaurant bar below is noisy until two or three in the morning every day.
PPuay Teck OngThe exterior of the hotel look inviting; however when we walked through the front door you can feel the heavy curtain around the lobby have not been clean for long time. All the sofa in the lobby are covered with some sort of clothes I guess it is to cover the old and uninviting sight. The check in process was straight forward and friendly.
None of the light on the stairs are working and I had to use the flash light on my phone to light a path up and down the stairs, could be dangerous if you need to evacuate the hotel quickly.
The room door has key card slot but I guess it is broken as I needed a physical key to unlock the room door and a keycard to turn on the electricity, the room size is good and high ceiling. The bathroom has no hook for the handheld shower head so not so convenient to have a shower, the water also not always hot enough.
The air conditioner was blowing warm air even though the dial was set to cold and it made the room so more warmer and uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel reviews seem to suggest this is one of the common issue people has been complaining about for more than 10 years!!!! I ended up open all the windows to cool the room down and this invited traffic noise all night long.
The hotel has been neglected for way too many years and surprisingly still in business????
