One of the nicest hotels we stayed in Japan. We had stayed in a traditional japanese room with Futon beds with an amazing view, compared to some hotels stayed in Tokyo, staff here were so kind, patient and helpful. We had come here to Ski which was wonderful as the resort comes with its own ski garden and lift passes which we were given (so generous and kind thank you!), there is also a lovely onsen onsite for hotel guests to use (free). Even though this resort may seem like a walk to the train station there is a timely shuttle bus service to and from with lovely staff there to help. Would recommend and definitely would come again!
Although the hotel is a bit old, the room is renovated, bright and clean, and the area is large. The hot spring is comfortable. The hotel is next to the ski slopes. It is very convenient to ski in winter. The breakfast and dinner are buffets. I did not patronize, but there is a restaurant nearby. I am not afraid of nothing to eat.
The hotel itself was nice, but the staff at the ski resort was horrible, the rentals are also not well maintained. The boards are not waxed, which makes it difficult to work with as there are a lot of flat routes which are difficult to avoid (Pony and village road were the flattest slope Ive ever seen in my life, I had to unstrap and walk and the board just wouldn't move). Ski resort staff were unfriendly and the rental staff was the worst, there was a lady there that was cold and rude. The only reason why the rental shop is surviving is probably because the equipments are salomon branded and that there is no other option. I would visit again but only because the routes are fun, Myoko long run was the best, but I would never want to rent from the shop again.
The food was very very good. For breakfast, you could choose from western or Japanese buffet. Western buffet is highly recommended, the omelette was the best ive eaten in my life and there was a diy risotto which was great as well. For dinner, there were 4 options, either buffet, steak, Japanese or shabushabu. All requiring reservations which is tough if you are checking in the evening as some might not be available. Highly recommend the steak, the food was good and the staff were amazing. Japanese was the hardest to get a reservation for but the food was quite underwhelming. The room was clean and ski lockers are also provided but it's tiny and can barely fit 2 boards. But I wish that in the toilet in the common area, you can adjust the tap temperature as the water is freezing cold.
Amenities wise, bottled water are provided daily, also, yukata was provided but you can only wear them to the onsen which was extremely troublesome as I had to change multiple times a day.
The hotel provides shuttle bus services to and fro jyoetsumyoko station which was easy to book. The bus drivers were also friendly and helped out with the luggage.
In summary, for a 5 stars hotel, it didn't live up to expectations, ski resort and rental staffs were unwilling to help and unfriendly. Also, some of the staffs could not speak Japanese which is puzzling for a hotel in Japan. If not for the amazing snow and slopes I would never come back.
The hotel's location is excellent, right outside the ski slopes, which is incredibly convenient.
The nearest ski resort doesn't have many runs, mostly beginner-friendly, perfect for leisurely and family ski trips. Plus, the larger Yuzawa Nakazato ski resort is only about a 10-minute walk away. Guests also get discounts at various ski resorts and ski rental shops.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to and from Echigo-Yuzawa, which is very convenient. The accommodation and food were also good. We had a delightful ski holiday.
The room is clean and comfortable, all facilities are complete, many lockers are very convenient, you can ski or stay at home, there are hot springs to soak, comfortable
This resort hotel is directly connected to the slopes and convenient for ski and snowboard trips. Its spacious Japanese-Western rooms, hot springs from the source, and views of the natural surroundings were appealing. The hot springs and buffet-style meals were very satisfying, and the staff were friendly and made for a comfortable stay. Although it is an old building, it is clean and has an atmosphere that is enjoyable for families and beginners, making it a hotel I would like to visit again.
Super super beautiful, very worth 👍 service is also super good ~ If you have the opportunity, you will want to go back to live again. Dinner and breakfast are also great, very relaxing hot spring area hotel.
This hotel was chosen as a midpoint before going up from Nagano to Niigata city. It is a hotel with a lot of history. I stayed in the main building, and it definitely felt old. It was clean enough that there were no problems with accommodation. It didn't seem like there were many guests because of its location, but the service was good, and breakfast was not buffet style, but a set meal, but it was quite neat and the taste was good.

AAnonymous UserLocation may be away from Sakihana station but they provide free shuttle if you inform in advance. Service was fabulous. The pretty Lady manager was warm and super friendly. The rest of the staff were efficient too. Their English is limited but we got by with GoogleTranslate. . Food was very delicious with many courses and side dishes. The highlight for us is the hot spring bath. The place was very clean and neat. We really enjoyed our time there. Yes, we have highly recommended our friends to visit the place in future.
