Rosedale Hotel Hong Kong

Booking a hotel can feel like a lucky dip, and you can't always rely solely on the review section. I saw a lot of negative comments when I booked this place, but I thought the price was reasonable and the location was great, so I decided to go for it. Turned out, the whole experience was a delightful surprise – practically a perfect score! 😍 First, let's talk about the location. It's right next to the busiest area of Causeway Bay, yet surprisingly quiet because it's next to the library and Victoria Park, which is their sports park with tons of soccer and basketball courts. It offers an open view and a peaceful environment. Downstairs, there are Ding Ding tram stops and various city bus stops, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The MTR stations (Causeway Bay and Tin Hau) are a few minutes' walk away, but after staying there, I realized that's not important at all. Buses are actually much cheaper and more convenient than the MTR, unless you're going somewhere very far. There's really no need to insist on taking the MTR. Even when we left with our luggage, walking those few minutes to the MTR didn't feel far at all. Secondly, the staff's service attitude was excellent. The front desk guy saw I had two kids and upgraded me directly to a larger bed, and on a higher floor too! That was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. From the window, there was a beautiful sea view of Victoria Harbour! 😀 I didn't experience any of the common complaints like slow elevators, probably because my family tends to go out late and come back late. All in all, I'd definitely want to stay here again on my next trip to Hong Kong!

To celebrate our anniversary, the hotel upgraded my city-view room to a racecourse-view room. The racecourse view was magnificent, and I imagine it would be even more exciting on a Wednesday race day. Due to environmental considerations, you need to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, but you can also buy them at the hotel for a very reasonable $1. Regarding the location, you need to use the underground tunnel from the hotel entrance to reach Wan Chai and Causeway Bay, which takes about ten to fifteen minutes.

Nathan Hotel

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this Nathan hotel. The overall experience was far below my expectations. First, the front desk female staff were impolite and unprofessional during the check-in process. Their attitude made me feel unwelcome from the moment I arrived. To make matters even more disappointing, the day of my check-in was my birthday, and I had hoped to enjoy a pleasant stay. Instead, it turned into a very frustrating experience. After entering my room, I noticed that the air conditioning was not working properly. The room remained uncomfortably warm despite adjusting the temperature. I contacted the hotel, and an engineer came to inspect the air conditioner. He turned off the main power and restarted the system, but the problem remained unresolved. Rather than offering to change my room or provide an effective solution, the hotel simply gave us a fan. Providing a fan is not an acceptable solution to a faulty air conditioning system. The room remained hot and uncomfortable throughout the stay, which seriously affected my comfort, sleep quality, and overall experience. Given the poor service, the lack of professionalism, and the unresolved air conditioning issue, I believe the hotel failed to provide the standard of accommodation that guests should reasonably expect. Another male front desk staff member escorted us to Room 1004 on the Executive Floor. However, the room only had one king-size bed, and the hotel informed us that they could only provide a foldaway bed. This was completely different from the room type I had booked. My reservation was clearly for a room with two double beds, so I do not understand why the hotel failed to provide the room type that I had reserved and confirmed. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and added to my disappointment with the overall stay. The next day, the Duty Assistant Manager offered us two alternative rooms. However, neither of them was satisfactory. The first room was on the 10th floor, but it still had only one king-size bed, which did not match my original reservation. The second room was on the 5th floor and contained four twin beds in the form of two bunk beds. This room was clearly not comparable to the Executive Floor room that I had originally booked and was not suitable for our needs. I made my booking based on the expectation that the hotel would provide the room type that was confirmed in my reservation. Unfortunately, the hotel failed to do so, which significantly affected our stay. In addition to the issues mentioned above, the hair dryer in our room was also defective because the power plug had come loose and could not be used safely. I contacted the front desk to request a replacement hair dryer, but I was informed that the Housekeeping team first needed to come to the room to verify the issue before a replacement could be provided. This unnecessary process caused further inconvenience during our stay. I would, however, like to recognize the professionalism and excellent service provided by the Housekeeping staff and the bellboy. They were polite, helpful, and courteous throughout our stay, and they deserve to be commended for their efforts. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the front desk staff. Their attitude was consistently disappointing from check-in to check-out. The male staff member who assisted us during check-out was also unfriendly and unprofessional. I believe the front desk team requires further customer service training to improve their attitude and the way they communicate with guests. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. I will not stay at Nathan Hotel again, nor will I recommend it to others. I sincerely hope that Trip.com and the hotel will take this complaint seriously and provide a fair resolution to this matter.

The hotel is 200 meters from the subway station, with many delicious and diverse food options nearby. Upon check-in, I received a room upgrade and coffee vouchers. The staff helped with my luggage and even gave a gift to my child. My only minor complaint is that the toilet wasn't perfectly clean, but everything else was great.

The room was at the end of the hall and larger than I expected. The hotel is close to the sea with a private beach and a swimming pool. The views from the hotel are great, perfect for a vacation. Transportation isn't very convenient, but there's a shuttle bus to the subway station. The facilities are quite old but generally clean, though the hygiene could still be improved.

This hotel is located in Tuen Mun. It's very convenient, taking about 30 minutes on the A33X bus directly, with no transfers needed. The room had everything we needed. The lobby is spacious, and even late at night, there were young people gathering, giving it a trendy vibe that I really liked.

I took taxi from the airport ($HK 215), and thought oh my gosh, where is this hotel!!. Simply because the narrow curvy endless mountain roads for at least 30 minutes. Taxi took me as close as possible to the hotel but still had to walk to the hotel reception. I could immediately feel the humidity and no elevator to the 3rd floor was surprise, a friendly staff helped me to carry the luggage. The real gem and country side became my favourite thing on the second day. The second day gave me a true peaceful mind and relaxing breeze when I jogged around the village. If you want to relax and get away from crowdedness from city, please visit here for at least 3 days. Not much choice for food so take a day trip to big Budha via ferry - this was the fav thing i have done in Hong Kong, i found this way better than my stay at Tsim sha tsui & central. You can see thr clouds covering mountain top, misty, and herd of cows. Beach swim is a bit of question mark here. You can experience real country side and see another side of Hong Kong.

Two MacDonnell Road

My stay at Two MacDonnell Road definitely lived up to its reputation. Located in Mid-Levels, it's an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle; it was incredibly quiet at night, with no city noise from Central at all, allowing for a very comfortable sleep. The room was much more spacious than most Hong Kong hotels, laid out like an apartment with a small living area and a basic kitchenette. There was plenty of space to spread out my luggage, making for a very relaxing stay. The view was a definite highlight. From a high floor, the expansive city and greenery views were stunning, both day and night. The staff were also polite. However, there were clear downsides: transportation isn't very convenient. It's a bit of a distance from the MTR station, so getting around mainly relied on taxis or the shuttle bus, which could be a bit troublesome when returning at night. The soundproofing was also quite poor. Overall, it's a great choice for those seeking peace and quiet, comfortable accommodation, and who aren't planning to rush through tourist sites every day. It's well-suited for business trips or short stays of a few days. If extreme convenience is your top priority, you might want to reconsider.

We stayed at Royal Plaza Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights with a group of 4. The location was excellent, with convenient access to public transport, attractions, and plenty of great food within walking distance. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. We also appreciated having a bathtub to relax after a long day of exploring. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider staying at Royal Plaza Hotel again on our next trip to Hong Kong.

This hotel is a 10 out of 10, but I'd give it 100! It's right by the subway entrance, making travel super convenient. The two guys at the front desk were incredibly kind and patient. I even lost my room card, and they didn't charge me anything (last year in HK, I lost a card at another hotel and had to pay 200 HKD 🥹). When I extended my stay, they not only remembered me but also gave me a small gift – so touching! The A/C was already running when I entered the room. The best part is the incredibly reasonable price; it was more comfortable than a place I stayed at before that cost over 3000 HKD!
