"I came for the Football and it was a really nice place to stay only a couple miles away from the football ground but near it there is Wetherspoons and there was a lovely Christmas market on as well. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommended if you’re staying for the Football just make sure you’re not near the lift."

GGuest UserExcellent location! Right next to a museum and a miniature village, plus a 100-year-old railway. There's a theater and a little shop nearby where we'd buy fish and chips almost every day, and a Tesco Express too. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment with singers. The staff were friendly and calm, and the large lobby and bar downstairs were a bonus. I fell in love with this hotel from the photos, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Thank you to the staff!

GGuest UserOur driver stays in hotels all over the UK while transporting vehicles for our business, and he says this is by far one of the best places he stays. The hotel is consistently very clean, the service from the staff is excellent, and everything is well organised and comfortable.
A major advantage for us is the parking. It is very convenient for larger vehicles, and our driver is able to park a truck and trailer without difficulty, which is not always easy to find when travelling for work.
Because of this, whenever we have jobs in the Exeter area, this is always the hotel he prefers to stay at. Highly recommended and we will definitely continue using it whenever we are in the area.

RRPSMWe stayed in two King rooms with balconies as a family and overall the hotel has a lot going for it. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Exeter, perfect for walking everywhere. The hotel itself looks great, especially the sky bar on the top floor. The views are excellent, the drinks are very good, and the service up there was genuinely friendly and attentive. We also grabbed some nibbles in the downstairs restaurant and both the food and service were solid.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and the balconies were a nice touch. Everything felt modern and comfortable.
The only real downside — and it’s a big one — is the front desk service. For a hotel at this price point (and especially as an IHG property), it really let the whole place down. The staff were slow, not particularly knowledgeable (and I hate to add, not the ”quickest”), and quite short/rude at times. We were told when checking in that we’d get late checkout as IHG members, but when we returned later a different staff member had no idea what we were talking about and seemed confused about how to handle it. She eventually offered only one room until 12pm, which after a 3pm check-in really doesn’t feel like proper late checkout.
We travel a lot and the front desk experience here was noticeably below standard. The rest of the hotel (rooms, bar, restaurant, location) is genuinely good, but the poor front-of-house service is what we’ll remember most. Would I stay again? Probably, because of the location and the rooms, but I really hope they sort out the front desk training and attitude.

GGuest UserThe hotel was really convenient for the train station being only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. This was great as we had booked a train via Trip at a super price. The hotel is a great base to explore the area including Brixham, Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish - using the train was cheap and quick. Now for the hotel - We arrived at around 2pm and the room was ready which was a result. The lift is operated by the room key and is good for security. The room was clean and large with a super king sized bed and a walk in shower with toiletries and hairdryer. There is also an iron and ironing board if needed. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet and soundproofed. There is air con or heating in the room and the maid visited daily to make up the room and replenish the tea and coffee. We booked a breakfast included room - highly recommended! There is a buffet for hot breakfast plus cereals, fruit, toast, croissants and pastries. Tea, coffee and juices. Everything was replenished as needed - My advice is to book this because it is £18 PP if bought on the day. The staff here were exceptional from the front desk to the maids and the restaurant and bar staff - very nice crew and most helpful and polite. We ate in the hotel on one of our nights and found there to be a decent choice with a vegetarian option or two. There are a few good eating houses nearby - we recommend Henrys Bar and The Local Thai as really good places. Overall this hotel is extremely good and very good value for money - We will stay again if in the area.

GGuest UserWe stayed in a family club room with our 3 year old grandson. The room was huge with 3 French doors leading to large balcony & magnificent garden & sea views. The heated pool was superb. Our only niggle would be that because of the dog friendly nature of the hotel there were perhaps naturally dog hairs on the bar/dining room & the shower could have benefitted from a deep clean. Due to the age of the hotel we accept that upgrades occur as necessary on an ongoing basis. Parking was great & all the staff were helpful & friendly. We would definitely return again.

GGuest UserThe hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation.
Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before.
Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

The hotel is situated at bottom end of Totnes main street. It is a busy hotel and bar, serving food. The building is old with one central staircase leading to rooms. All the rooms I have occupied are very clean, decorated in a tasteful way and the beds are comfortable.. Teas are good quality Tea Pigs a small coffee machine is also provided, plus a bottle of water.
I am a coeliac and vegetarian. Eating in other hotels is almost impossible,they simply do not cater for my dietary requirements,thankfully I am guaranteed a delicious breakfast here.
One of the most important reasons for returning here is the customer service. The staff here are really approachable and friendly. Any issue you may have regarding your stay, they will do their best to help you resolve.
T have stayed in other hotels etc if there aren't any vacancies here but from my experience if you like a relaxed friendly environment, lovely rooms, location Totnes as a base, then this is the place to come .
It is also a short walk away from the most beautiful cinema I've ever been in, which is tucked away, along the main high street,
My only wish is that more free parking was available . The hotel offers capacity for approx 6 cars at the rear of the hotel. There is plenty of paid parking in main street and nearby Morrisons.

NNina ParfonovaWe had a really lovely stay at Leonardo Hotel. Everything was great from start to finish. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our stay.
We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, and the food was very good. My dish was a little too spicy for me, but the waitress was absolutely lovely and so helpful. She explained that they could make it less spicy and even suggested using a different type of pasta. She was so attentive and genuinely caring — it really stood out and made the experience even better.
Breakfast was a typical English breakfast, with a good choice of options, and everything was perfectly fine.
Overall, a really pleasant experience. Five stars from me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
