Traveling to Nanjing with friends, this hotel exceeded our expectations! The room is equipped with a fresh air system, ensuring good ventilation and dryness throughout the day. The entire room was meticulously cleaned and spotless, with no lingering cooking or smoke odors, and the air was very fresh. The large screen for streaming worked flawlessly, making it a great experience for catching up on shows in my free time. The room attendant was kind and thoughtful, and we could store our luggage for free both before and after check-in. The hotel is located in the heart of Xinjiekou, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and sightseeing. For the price, the value for money is outstanding – for just over a hundred yuan, it felt like a several-hundred-yuan stay. Next time I'm in Nanjing, this will be my top choice for accommodation!

This was by far the most comfortable stay I've ever had. Building 8's decor isn't the traditional 'old money' or 'cadre' style of a five-star hotel; it's quite minimalist, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were excellent. When they learned I preferred a quieter room, they proactively upgraded me for free to a room away from the Quyuan (some rooms near Quyuan can be disturbed by early morning calls starting at 6:30 AM). The room's amenities, including the turndown service, were all top-notch and clearly superior to standard chain five-star hotels. The hotel's garden scenery is beautiful and well worth the price. When checking out, I asked to keep my room key as a souvenir. You can also request a customized souvenir key, but it takes 15 minutes to make, and I was short on time, so I just took the original. There are two main downsides: firstly, the express lane to Slender West Lake still requires a ticket. I don't quite understand why, when they offer free travel photography and hot springs, they don't include the 100 RMB entrance fee. Also, the express lane is only open from 8 AM to 5 PM, meaning you can't use it for a night visit to Slender West Lake. Of course, this isn't an issue with Building 8 itself but rather with the entire Yangzhou State Guesthouse group. The other flaw is that breakfast is quite average, and they mandate buying breakfast for two. For a solo traveler like me who also wanted to try the Three Spring Restaurant outside, it felt a bit wasteful. However, these minor issues don't overshadow the overall experience. For a relaxing vacation, and if you're not overly sensitive about the price, Building 8 is undoubtedly the best choice. On a side note, reservations for the Hill Restaurant and Quyuan are genuinely difficult to get. Quyuan's taste isn't necessarily better than the Three Spring Restaurant; its price mainly reflects the view. The Hill Restaurant's food, however, is indeed excellent, far better than the superficial offerings of places like the Peace Hotel.

The hotel has a charming Chinese-style aesthetic, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The service was excellent; the owner even upgraded our room for free. The location is perfect for exploring nearby attractions. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

This hotel is nestled in an alley in Laomendong, right opposite the popular Pioneer Bookstore, which is a great location. The only downside is that it's 1.5 km from the metro station, but we took taxis everywhere, so it wasn't a big deal for us. We originally booked a tatami room, but only found out upon arrival that it was on the B2 level. It had a musty smell, was damp, and poorly ventilated, making it quite uncomfortable. We paid an extra 1000 RMB to switch to a room on the second floor, which was much better. If you're booking, definitely avoid the basement rooms. The hotel has three adorable cats! Aside from the little hiccup with the room upgrade, everything else was pretty good, even though the price doubled during the holiday.

The hotel is located right by the Qinhuai River, on a very quiet street, so it's not noisy at all. It's less than a 10-minute walk to Laomendong, and just 5 minutes in the other direction to the Grand Bao'en Temple. You can even see the temple from the terrace, and it lights up beautifully at night! There's no elevator, but the front desk staff are happy to help with luggage, so no worries there. The toilet is smart, and the shower space is just right. Overall, it offers great value for money.

The location is excellent! It's right by the hotel entrance, just turn right from Exit 6 of Xinjiekou Subway Station. The Asia Pacific Tower is quite new, and the breakfast offers a great selection of Nanjing local specialties. The staff are very service-oriented; they greet guests whenever they encounter them around the hotel. Although Jinling Hotel primarily caters to business travelers, it's also a good choice for family trips. What really impressed me was when we were waiting for staff to get a souvenir stamp, the manager specially gave the children cute sycamore leaf pendants and fridge magnets, which made them very happy! They also provide bed rails and children's toiletries, which is a big plus for families. Guests staying at the hotel also get a 15% discount when dining at Meiyuan Restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was exhausted from my travels, but Xiao Yu's service truly warmed my heart. She was enthusiastic, attentive, gentle, and kind. She handled the check-in process efficiently and meticulously, and even shared some thoughtful local travel tips. She was incredibly patient throughout and her genuine smile was so uplifting. There was no forced politeness, just genuine dedication. Her excellent service added so much to my entire trip. My sincere thanks to her, and I wish her all the best in her work.

The morning sun gently woke me through the curtains. I stretched, full of anticipation, knowing that a sumptuous breakfast awaited me. At my favorite hotel, breakfast isn't just the start of the day; it's a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
**Breakfast: Abundant**
As I entered the restaurant, my eyes were immediately drawn to the dazzling array of breakfast options. Freshly sliced fruits were neatly arranged like colorful jewels—orange carrots, green kiwis, red strawberries—all looking incredibly tempting under the soft lighting. Next to them were various breads, from soft croissants to crispy whole wheat toast, each emitting an inviting aroma. And the steaming hot fried eggs and sausages were truly mouth-watering.
**Facilities:**
The hotel's facilities are top-notch, from the gym to the swimming pool, every area exudes modernity and luxury. In the gym, state-of-the-art equipment is neatly arranged, providing guests with a perfect workout space. The swimming pool is even more impressive, with its clear waters shimmering under the sunlight, as if inviting every guest to jump in and enjoy a refreshing swim.
**Hygiene:**
The hotel's commitment to cleanliness is truly admirable. From the spotless rooms to the tidiness of the public areas, every detail is meticulously maintained. The bed linens are impeccably white, offering a home-like comfort the moment you lie down. The floors in public areas are pristine, and the mirrors in the restrooms reflect not just your image, but also the hotel's careful attention to detail.
**Environment:**
The elegant and serene environment is what truly left a lasting impression on me. Whether it's the soft lighting in the lobby or the thoughtfully selected artwork in the corridors, every detail feels perfectly harmonious. The view from the window is also a highlight—lush trees and the chirping of birds create an atmosphere that feels like a hidden paradise.
**Service:**
The professional and enthusiastic staff make every stay a memorable experience. From the welcoming smiles at the front desk to the prompt and attentive room service, every interaction makes you feel right at home. They consistently remember guests' preferences, making each service feel personalized and thoughtful.
In summary, this hotel offers a rich breakfast, excellent facilities, high hygiene standards, an elegant environment, and impeccable service. Every stay is a perfect and unforgettable experience, leaving me wanting to return again and again.
The room environment is great, and the cleanliness is top-notch. The cleaning staff regularly tidy up, and the room feels very cozy. It's also close to the subway station. The front desk staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, are very kind and even remembered that we needed band-aids. We'll definitely come back next time.

CChuntianrannaifenBooked this place for a business trip to Nanjing and was pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, with a large bay window offering excellent natural light. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the shredded radish pancake was absolutely delicious! The lounge on the first floor was also very convenient for business meetings. My foreign colleague traveling with me also spoke highly of it. If I return to Nanjing, I would certainly choose to stay here again.

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.
EEllasanheiThe room was incredibly clean, and right downstairs was Pingjiang Road pedestrian street. It was just a short walk to Shen Wansan's braised meat shop, and then quickly to the taxi stand. I stayed on the main road by the stream, and even though there were a lot of people passing by, it was very quiet once I closed the door. The camphor trees were blooming, and a lovely fragrance wafted in when I opened the window. The cleaning lady was very friendly; since I was staying for several days and playing tennis daily, I consumed a lot of drinking water. She would stock up for me every few days. The room layout was also great and very clean, and the bedding was super comfortable. I'm quite particular about bedding, but this experience was truly fantastic. I've found my spot; next time I come to Suzhou, I'll definitely stay here again.

Environment: Not noisy at all, and the bed was very comfortable.
Facilities: Hot water was fast. The only thing was the bathroom mirror was a bit low, so I had to bend over slightly to dry my hair instead of standing upright.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

DDuntiechongyijiaqinThe environment is fantastic, especially the location. It's incredibly close to Fuzimiao, right next to the Fuzimiao Grand Market. Getting to Laomendong, the Fuzimiao Qinhuai Scenic Belt, Jiangnan Gongyuan, or Bailuzhou Park is super convenient – all within a 10-minute bike ride. The atmosphere here is also excellent with plenty of public areas (and charging points!). I didn't take photos of the rooms, focusing mainly on the public spaces, which include a dedicated drying area. Plus, there's an elevator and shared showers and restrooms.
