The strength of this hotel is the great built-in spa within the hotel property!
Stay here if you want to enjoy a beautiful spa experience only steps away from your hotel room.
Don’t stay here is you expect to be close to downtown. It’s at least a twenty minute walk to downtown, including if you just need a quick drink from a convenience store, and having to take a taxi each time quickly adds up! Don’t even think about walking to and from the hotel after sunset as the mosquitoes will eat you very quickly (you won’t even make it half way). Hence, I sort of wished I picked any hotel closer to downtown as I believe their premium is worth it just on this fact alone.
Don’t stay here if you want variety with the included breakfast. The complimentary breakfast will have you searching for the rooftop entrance across the street, climb the stairs to be presented three preset breakfast options; omelette or scrambled eggs with either cheese or ham or pancakes. Granted, a bit of fruits and yogurt is included along with the eggs, but it’s pretty basic. Though I’m not complaining when you get to have freshly prepared breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the Holbox white beach! Just don’t expect much nor to have a variety of options. But it will get the job done! Breakfast was 8:30-10:30am and we hung around past that to enjoy coffee on the rooftop WIFI.
Don’t stay here if you are expecting a good pool experience. The two small pools on the property aren’t running all the time so it doesn’t look appealing to get into.
Don’t stay here if you are expecting a view from your hotel room. You won’t see any bit of the ocean - just the hotels in front and behind this hotel.
We upgraded from the Double Room to the King suite and really glad we did because we got a nice balcony and comfortable bed with plenty of different pillow options. We also looked into upgrading to the King suite with bathtub option but glad we didn’t opt for it as the bathtub didn’t look appealing and just took up all the living room space. We wish the rooms were a bit more spacious, with perhaps some living room furniture, otherwise you just get a basic bed with nightstands, TV with basic cable and basic bathroom. The water pressure was good and quickly warmed up. The room AC was great and didn’t need to be run long. The issue mainly was the poor insulating as we heard out downstairs neighbours and likely would have heard whoever was across from us if there was anyone. There was no safe or iron in the room unfortunately.
If beach clubs are your thing, there are three decent options very close by. We checked out “HAU” beach club directly across from this hotel. This beach club didn’t have a minimum, had a generous happy hour (4-7pm), but unfortunately we got diarrhea after their mojitos. Although they were delicious mojitos so it’s hard to regret it.
I primarily booked this place to get a great spa experience and they exceeded my expectations. Thus, based on this experience, this hotel deserves nothing less than five stars.
I also can’t forget to mention the hotel staff were incredibly helpful during our stay. Shoutout to all the concierges and especially including Mateo, Almira and Marianna in the reservations department!

Jesse.02Very very large hotel with many stores and restaurants . There are lots of amenities but most are extra pay (which is a bit unfortunate given how much the hotel is already).

This hotel is in a safe area and doesn't offer all-inclusive. I was out on tours all day, so I really only used it for sleeping.
Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and a hairdryer. The hairdryer had great power, which was a huge plus. They provide two bottles of water daily; additional bottles cost extra, so I'd recommend heading to the supermarket for more. If you're in a hurry, you can get free water at the gym on the 4th floor.
Toothbrushes and other similar items aren't provided.
The pool is quite shallow, though I didn't actually use it.
There's a large supermarket nearby, so I'd advise using that. There's no kitchen, so self-catering isn't an option.

Guest UserNYX Cancun has both good and bad points. It’s in a good location, suggests all the best facilities, staff are friendly and generally accommodating, and the rooms are well proportioned and feel good. However, all inclusive does not mean all inclusive with lots of things excluded on every menu, at the bar, On the beach, at the spa – there’s not paid upgrade everywhere so all inclusive is more just average. On the day after you arrive the team Are very pushy to take you to a 90 minute presentation to join their club. The 90% of people it won’t be the right choice, but for those who go to NYX regularly it might be useful, offer people that like the NYX type of Hotel, for others who just want to come and enjoy your vacation the presentation and pushy sales is a big turn off. There is a massive problem with availability around the pool. The pool is small for the number of rooms in the Hotel, and it’s not available all day as you would expect – the events team are constantly taking it over for Aqua aerobics, water volleyball so at the peak hours of the day you can’t actually go for a relaxing swim. Also, the lounge is around the pool of part few for the number of guests, often all being fully reserved by 7:30 am with people showing up mid morning not staying on them all day but blocking everybody else. The Hotel does have space on the beach, but all the premium spaces are saved For paid upgrades, And their exclusive paid club which is hundreds of dollars a year more. Finally, allergies with the food is dangerous – cross-contamination in the buffet and the staff don’t take it that seriously.
If you want a well located Hotel for a reasonable cost with a nice room and you’re prepared to do the sunbed fight don’t mind a presentation and love friendly staff – it’s a great place to stay. If you want midmorning availability at the pool, all inclusive to mean all inclusive, or you have dietary requirements – there are elements that may not be ideal. Not a bad Hotel, but more average than great.

The room was quite spacious, but clearly very old. Even with a 'sea view' room, if it's located in an unfavorable part of the building, you'll only catch a glimpse of the sea in the distance. The hotel's beach was spotless, no seaweed in sight, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was a buffet with a decent variety, though the taste was just average; my favorite dish, surprisingly, was the oatmeal cooked with milk.

When i booked this hotel, just look photos and price. I think like this expensive hotel must be excellent. But...
1. This is like 3 stars hotel.
2. Personals very bad. If you didn't pay them, nobody served for you. Just one time they can give you juice or something. Second time you need wait 20 minutes
3. I booked room for 2 people. But inside everything for one. Need ask many time for bring one more soap, or shampoo. And surely need pay....
4. No any amenities. Just pool and restaurants.
5. Normally if you pay this money in Dubai or Turkey, you can see whats the 5 stars. He you can't see any stars.
6. I think have just one reason for like this high price. It's a erotic show. Name is erotic. Nothing more. Just name:):):):)
So, if you have money, and want to rest. Didn't go this hotel. I booked it for 5 days. But stay there just 1 night.

Standout was the unique rooms which are extremely private, spacious and beautifully designed along the lagoon. Personally I didn’t quite understand the ‘Butler’ concept and found some of the comms style a bit frustrating.
The other standout was the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations. The property was decorated beautifully and very well organised. The opportunity to also participate was great as we felt emerged in the festivities. It would have been nice if the dinner package also included the face painting.
More broadly the property is set within mayakoba so you can explore the grounds including the other hotels and it was fun to explore on the bikes.
The only other thing to be aware off is also this is the more premium / exclusive hotel in mayakoba it’s still geared towards families or at least there where quite a few kids around. Finally don’t have high expectations of the beach it’s tiny and there isn’t much space.
If you want high end luxury visit Maroma.

Guest UserThe hotel is huge, making it easy to get lost. Dinner requires reservations, and the only slot we could get was for 9:30 PM in one of the halls, as all others were fully booked. We ate at the buffet for both days, and it was excellent. The buffet restaurant is located in the adjacent Royal Hall.
The room's ambiance was great, but there were no sea-view rooms available when we checked in. The central air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy; we couldn't sleep the first night. We turned it off on the second night, and it wasn't hot or humid, so we slept very well.

Karen Elizabeth BiowThis will be the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel and I will say that it's getting old. The resort has five pools that were all hot. The surrounding beach in the area is 20 ft deep and seaweed and you can't enter the water. Also if you can imagine the hotel makes you check out at 10:00 a.m. which screwed up my sleeping pattern for the day of checkout. What hotel makes you check out at 10:00 a.m.? By the way check in time isn't until 4:00. So if you're staying for one day you only get 18 hours of hotel. Some of the rooms are redone and some of the rooms have got the original flooring from when I stay there the first time around 25 years ago. My room had the original flooring. The first room that reception gave me was on the first floor at the absolute end of the resort. The room was run down and the floor looked like it was buckling a little . The second room reception gave me had a foul odor. Food and drinks at this hotel are extremely expensive. I want to say that a margarita is around 13 to 17 US dollars give me a break. Do not order an a la carte breakfast there because they pick it off the buffet and it's going to be cold. I want to say breakfast is 550 pesos a person. Breakfast was fine but nothing special. They don't offer cappuccino or lattes as a courtesy for breakfast. By the way it takes reception around 15 minutes per customer to check you in. I have stayed at this resort a total of four times and I would not go back. The beach is infested with seaweed farther than the eye can see there's no place swimmable by this resort. I would say it was quite disappointing. By the way they have a little market in the resort and a $6 bottle of champagne in Los Angeles cost $53 in their ghastly overpriced market. Very bad value for money. My third room was acceptable. I do have to say I think the rooms are big and the gentleman that checked me on did give me an upgrade to a balcony on the lagoon side so that was something. I paid a round $140 USD a night with tax and really it was a 85 US dollar hotel at best. It doesn't meet Westin standards. There was also an area with a little chip paint in my room but I'm probably being somewhat nitpicky. The light in the room is also not very bright and made it somewhat hard to read.
