The Basingstoke Hotel provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Basingstoke Hotel is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Hook. The hotel is only 7km from Winchfield and 43km from Heathrow Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. This hotel is located near many of Hook's attractions including Miller's Ark Animals, Butter Wood and St Nicolas Church. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. This Hook hotel provides parking on site. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling alone.

"Booked on the recommendation of a family member , 1st room on the ground floor was small, cold and had a broken window handle leaving the room unsecured.  We said to the reception staff who asked if we wanted moved , we moved to an ”upgraded” room on the top floor which was far better, as we were staying for 3 nights we welcomed the move.  Can’t comment on the leisure pool as we didn’t use it, given that we had paid for 3 night’s accommodation I don’t see why I would have to pay to use the pool and use towels!  Bar was ok but at times you have to wait for someone to come and serve, the bar also closed at 11pm regardless if you are staying or not. No automatic room service you have to ask for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels etc.  Many other hotels in the area so don’t think we would return"

Nice, comfortable and very friendly hotel. Huge double bed. All rooms are very clean. A car park is very close to the hotel ( walk out of the hotel door, across the road and your in the carpark.

This hotel is beautiful and just a 35-minute drive from Highclere Castle. It has a real sense of history. The facilities are great, although there's no air conditioning and the room felt a bit stuffy, but that's just the way it is sometimes. The hotel is right next to a vast estate with beautiful lawns, flowers, and trees, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. I hope to come back again!

I was a little bit disappointed staying at the Apollo hotel when I booked, i booked it for two adults and one child and when I got there there was only a double bed, they told me they would put in a single bed for me whilst I was out and when I got back to the hotel at 8:30pm there still wasn’t a bed they eventually at 10pm gave me a camp bed with springs missing for my four-year-old to sleep on I wasn’t happy, so in the end I ended up sleeping on the floor so my daughter could have the bed with her dad, it’s a real shame to see a hotel that I stayed in when I got married has gone downhill, there was a lot of dirty trays in the corridors on the way to the room, but on entrance of the hotel was beautiful,

We stayed for a wedding, perfect location next to the station. Standout was the receptionist - super friendly and helpful, took our bags ahead of checking and allowed us to use the facilities to change for the wedding. Would recommend.

The hotel do not make it clear that you have to pay for the swimming pool each time you use it. When you have children who are expecting to swim, this is simply not good enough. When booking it clearly says there are leisure facilities, including a swimming pool. It was only when checking in that we were told you had to pay £5 per person! We booked a ‘golf view’ room. When we arrived in the room there was a view of a bush, tree and bins with golf buggies in the distance come the morning, hardly a golf view in our opinion. Very disappointed children who were excited to be able to see a fairway! Breakfast was massively understaffed. The two staff members working were working very hard but with a full hotel, there should have been more staff working. It took far too long for glasses to be topped up to use for juice and the pastries ran out and were not replaced in time for us to eat. All staff members were lovely and worked hard but I feel management need to act upon previous reviews. We were told that the golf view issue was historical and an issue with Trip and how they advertise but if this was the case, why had nothing been done to address it? We were offered a drinks voucher as compensation but we refused as we had already purchased our non-alcoholic drinks for the evening. Perhaps not the best offer for a family! We asked if we could have our swim paid for instead and were told no because the leisure facilities were separate to the hotel??

It was a great experience for us as a family, I have to booked 2 rooms to accommodate the family of four, everything was absolutely fantastic. Kids enjoyed the food. It was 9/10 stars for all, except that it took us so long to wait for the room that was interconnected with the other room. I was told at first that it was interconnected but then when we went in there it wasn’t. huge thanks to Ms. Nadia from the front desk who was there to help us and got everything sorted for 10 minutes. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly 😊 we will definitely be back again.

Old Thorns Hotel & Resort

We had an amazing time at Old Thorns Hotel & Resort celebrating my fiancé’s birthday weekend. The whole place is beautiful, the décor is stunning, with lovely pictures throughout that make it feel both homely and luxurious at the same time. The spa facilities and gym were excellent, and the young guy at the bar was especially friendly and made us some great drinks. The rooms were spacious, the showers were fantastic, and the golf course was beautiful and very well maintained. The only area I think could use a little improvement is the breakfast selection. There were fruits, bread, yoghurt, eggs, and the usual items for an English breakfast, but after staying more than one night, it would have been nice to have more variety such as pancakes or other breakfast options to switch things up a bit. I also paid extra for the birthday package. While I wasn’t expecting anything extravagant, it did feel a little misleading for the £15 charge, as it mainly included balloons, a very small teddy bear, some chocolates, and a card, which was exactly what was shown in the pictures. Other than that, everything was perfect and we had a wonderful stay.

The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was the best I've had during my entire UK trip. The value for money is unbeatable; for this price, you'd only get a 2 or 3-star hotel elsewhere.

The staff here are exceptional, and nothing is too much for them. They are super friendly and willing to help at every opportunity. The room was bright and spacious and had everything needed for our short stay as a couple with our furry friend in tow. The hotel is showing signs of needing some TLC in areas but overall it was nice and comfortable and great at the price point. At 1st parking appeared to be a pain but after liaising with the awesome staff we were given a permit to park on the street. Bonus! Overall, I would recommend this hotel and say 4-4.5 out of 5 was a good score.
