Enjoy this for a short stay with family and young toddlers.
Stated check in at 3pm but when we checked in, room already available, probably it was a Friday. Staff are friendly & polite, with good service. We booked without breakfast because keen to try the foods around but I believe the breakfast also worth it if book together just around RM60 more for 3 pax.
Gym is big with almost everything in it! They have pool for adults to play, but no entry below 16 year old.
The only minus points is the Dino Waterpark within the hotel requires additional payment at RM20 per pax for those above 3 year old. It is not expensive but we thought everything were inclusive.
Location wise really convenient as you can get almost everything downstairs - even the groceries in Lotus supermarket!

Mixed Experience – Good Service Recovery but Initial Handling Could Be Better
I recently stayed at Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre and had a mixed experience.
For the first two nights, we suspected the room was not properly cleaned as both my husband and I experienced continuous sneezing throughout the stay. I reported this to the front desk after the first night, but no action was taken or escalated. Unfortunately, we had to endure a second uncomfortable night before I raised the issue again to the duty manager.
I must commend the duty manager for her prompt and decisive action — she arranged an immediate room change, which made a significant difference. This level of service recovery was appreciated. However, it is unclear why the initial concern was not escalated earlier by the front desk, which could have prevented unnecessary discomfort.
On a positive note, when I fell sick during the stay, the front desk staff were thoughtful enough to send porridge and warm water to my room — a kind gesture that I truly appreciated.
The hotel’s location is very convenient, and the breakfast selection varies daily, which is a plus. A special mention to the egg station staff — they were consistently friendly and attentive, handling every request with a smile even during busy periods.
Check-out was smooth and efficient.
Overall, while there were some lapses in initial handling, the service recovery and certain staff members’ efforts stood out.

Our go-to hotel whenever we are going KSL area.
Room is big and spacious. But same issue as all rooms I guess, living rooms and bedrooms are too dim. This particular unit we stayed in this time was much dimmer than our previous. And one of the toilet sink, water could not flow. We gotta use the powder room outside to wash up. Breakfast selection was a little less but not an issue.
Overall, still ok.

A large 20-30 years old hotel building. Clean , very large guest room with city view on the high floor. Fast check in and friendly staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Good water pressure at the high floor bathroom.
None smoking rooms are available, but sometimesl smell of the smoking still coming from room ventilation.
Good room price. Will stay again if I come to Johor Baru.

Facilities: Relatively new. Parking is free, but you need to go to the front desk to swipe your TNG card every time you leave the car park.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: The hotel's interior is excellent. However, the area in front of the hotel feels a bit like a construction site, so be careful when walking.
Service: There's a young man at the front desk who speaks Chinese.
The breakfast buffet is top-notch, with an incredibly wide selection. My only regret is having just one stomach. There were so many local dishes I didn't even know how to combine them!

Great & strategic hotel. Room is big & spacious. Hotel offered us room with balcony. The sahur (pre dawn meal) is quite delicious & have different varieties.
During ramadhan, we always booked this hotel as it's opposite the bazaar perling & perling mall. One of the best ramadhan bazaar in JB!

Good place for a short stay. The biggest advantage is the location as it is within walking distance to JB Sentral and the customs. The room is spacious compared to a hotel and suitable for overnight trips. Self check-in was easy, just need to follow the instructions carefully. The only downside is the surrounding area is quite quiet at night and parking may be a bit confusing for first timers. Overall still worth the price.

YYL_SnoopyIf you like a quiet, cosy place that give you a resort feel, then this hotel will be a good choice.
Initially booked this hotel is because wanting to try the Gem Spa, as previously I tried their other outlet which was very good. But sadly due to time constraints, we didn't manage to go the spa.
What I like about this hotel is, there is a hard rock within the hotel. So if you do not want to travel 15mins out, then you can actually chill and eat there.
The room is cosy but sadly that even I had booked the sea view, the view was not directly. I was allocated a room that faced the road and far right is the sea. But the plus point is I have a bathtub.
Overall the service is good, breakfast is average and the occupancy of the hotel is high but you do not feel crowded.
JJust good enoughI was there for 3 nights, booking 2 rooms with queen size bed.
It was a less than satisfactory experience. I specifically requested for rooms away from elevators but they gave me 2 rooms that are right next to their employee elevator. So it means, the elevator is in between of the 2 rooms that I booked for my parents and I. No doubt, the employee elevator meant less activity but it's still next to the elevator where ppl could easily come up and down.
Secondly, we were unable to get the key card to open the door to the corner room that is for my parents. Took 1 trip down to concierge to inform them about the problem. They programmed the key card again and problem still exists. Only after I told them to relocate my parents to a different floor that they mentioned that the battery in the scanner of the door ran out so they have to get technician to change them. So, that left a bad impression from the getgo.
Thirdly, once we got on that floor, it smelled bad. I had to get housekeeping to spray air-freshener to get rid of the smell. I believe it from the drainage, where if water wasn't used or flushed down, it can start to smell. So my question was, how long was the room toilets not cleaned or flushed? If the rooms were occupied, surely it shouldn't smell.
Fourth, the pool was not what is expected of a hotel pool. Even a boutique hotel pool look better than that. But I don't care too much about pools as I am looking for good place to rest after spending a lot of time sightseeing when I'm traveling.
Fifth, noise insulation wasn't good. I could hear the guest in the next room snoring from my room. Let alone if the guest spoke loudly, I could hear.
The staff were polite and kind for the most part. One or 2 staff may not know certain things but they are probably new to the job and are on training. Not a big matter.
It is situated in a good location. It is 20-25 mins away from Johor city square. It is in a nice suburban neighbourhood, but within a commercial round area with a park in the middle. There is even a big Aeon Mall right opposite the hotel. Traffic isn't bad going into that area.
If you're looking to spend a lot of time in the room during your travel, this is not the one for you. If you want a comfortable room to rest for the night, this is good enough.
AahshanStayed at Sand & Sandals Resort in Desaru and it was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The resort has a spacious, tropical vibe with big rooms, comfy beds, and a nice balcony to unwind. The pool area is great for chilling, and the beach is just a short walk away — perfect for morning strolls and golden hour photos.
Service was friendly, and the location made it easy to get around for food, activities, and day trips. It’s a solid choice if you want a fuss-free, beachside stay that feels calm and refreshing.
Overall, a pleasant resort for couples, families, or a girls’ trip getaway. 🌊💛

Very Good
WWINNIE WSLIf you love the sea, beach vibes, and a relaxing atmosphere, this place is an ideal choice for a short escape and offers great value for money. The location is strategic and affordable, making it suitable for a small family looking for a staycation or a break from daily stress. While it may not compare to a five-star hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable. Do note that during peak seasons, housekeeping services can be slower than usual, possibly due to limited staff. The facilities are decent, and it’s a pleasant surprise that they offer fun activities like ATV, horse riding, etc. along the beach.
One of the highlights is the beautiful sunrise—head to the balcony / beach early in the morning for the best spot, where you can enjoy a scenic view as the sun rises over the horizon.
DDini LeeChecking in at 5:00 PM was quick and hassle-free without the need for a queue number, but the staff were unfortunately unfriendly. There was no briefing regarding the resort’s facilities or perks, and no directions were given on how to get to the rooms or the swimming pool. When I asked questions, they seemed rushed and reluctant to answer.
I requested a baby cot to be sent directly to the room, and fortunately, it arrived. However, I wasn't informed about the Splash Park. I only found out through a Google search that there was a second pool at Block A. The beach area was mediocre and not very appealing. Breakfast was also average with limited variety. The only highlight of this stay was the Splash Park. Overall, the staff were not welcoming at all.
EElenalowSuch a beautiful places for ideal short vacation. Strongly recommended hotel if you visiting Desaru. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Good to be here and they help us decorate the room and free us a birthday cake as well.
HHaryatiyatt3 days 2 night feel not enough. Thank you for the complimentary for my son birthday. He really surprised with the deco and the cake. The private beach so clean and we're enjoying our stay in The Westin. The breakfast so nice and so variety. The pool, the staff and everything was so superb. Just want to highlight to management, can install hand bidet in every toilet inside room. Quite difficult for muslim customer to use current toilet. But everything was good
