One of the standout features of this hotel is the efficiency of the staff. The check-in and check-out processes were super fast, which is always appreciated after a long day of travel. Additionally, the hotel provides free parking, a major plus for those of us driving in KK where parking can often be a challenge. The accommodations were excellent. Both the room and the toilet were spotless, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout my stay. I also appreciated that they were generous with essentials—there was sufficient drinking water provided, so I never felt the need to constantly request more. Breakfast at the hotel was a pleasant experience. While the quality of the food was nice, I did find the variety a bit limited and hope they can provide more choices in the future to keep the buffet exciting. However, the absolute highlight of the morning was the fresh juice station. It is easily the best part of the breakfast service; you can request specific fruits, and the staff prepares the juice freshly for you right on the spot. It’s a personalized touch that really elevates the meal.

Strategically located in the city centre. Walking distance to shopping malls, eateries, and the popular Gaya Street. Room was spacious, clean, and good for a single traveller like me. Much improvement and refurbishment/renovation is needed for its interior if this hotel intends to change from an old-school design to a newer and exclusive look. Otherwise, it gives an impression of a 1980s to 1990s era hotel room. The furniture is old and all buttons on the bedside drawers are not usable. The bathroom door has a squeaky sound.

The room was quite spacious and the location was great, right in the city by the sea. There's a seafood market directly opposite. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to Gaya Street and very convenient to get to the pier. A taxi ride takes around ten minutes, and the airport is also quite close. The front desk was very responsive, and the breakfast was decent. I even caught a stunning sunset from the hotel rooftop!

We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade when checking in, offering a full ocean view. It was absolutely stunning and made me feel like we'd chosen the perfect hotel – a true beachside getaway is exactly what a vacation needs! The room itself was very spacious, and the bathroom was even bigger, cleaner, and brighter than it appeared in the online photos. We arrived late and caught the tail end of the sunset, and it only took a few minutes to walk down to the beach to see it. My friend and I aren't early risers, so we skipped Jesselton Point the next day and instead departed directly from the hotel's pier to Manukan Island. There were plenty of boat times available, and we took the 12:30 PM one. There's a dedicated boat for hotel guests, which also drops you back at the hotel – super convenient. If you want to visit The Magellan, the hotel also provides a shuttle bus. The Magellan is more family-friendly, but if you're looking for better value, The Pacific is definitely the way to go. However, I do have to mention that many of the hotel's facilities are quite old. The showerhead was leaking, and I hope they'll replace it soon.

The hotel's public areas are nice, but there's no beach. If you're looking for a beach, you might want to consider other hotels. The rooms were a bit humid overall, but apparently, all hotels in Kota Kinabalu are like that. The service was pretty standard, nothing special, just like any other hotel. A convenient feature is that there's a jetty right at the hotel, which is great if you're heading to Mantanani Island, as it's very close.

Service: Absolutely fantastic! They provide complimentary waterproof phone pouches, raincoats, eye masks, and other little essentials. Plus, there are free iced drinks and, best of all, free laundry service – perfect for a trip to Sabah! The laundry is super fast too, and the housekeeper is very responsive to guests' needs. Facilities: Not great, actually. The space is small, and the apartment design has some issues. The shower stall has a tiny bathtub that's neither comfortable for a bath nor spacious enough for a shower. And the sink is a nightmare – water splashes everywhere the moment you wash your hands, so it feels like you're washing your hands and feet at the same time. Environment: It's an apartment within the Imago mall. Plane noise is quite noticeable, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're a light sleeper. Since everyone takes taxis around here, convenience of transportation isn't really an issue. There's also a fish noodle restaurant in the mall that wasn't very good. Cleanliness: Good. It was clean and tidy, with no visible stains.

Had a really lovely staycation recently! The facilities were great, and the sunset view was absolutely stunning, definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-designed, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We were also happy to be able to get a connecting room this time, which made things so much more convenient for my family. We had requested wheelchair accessibility, and the staff truly did their best to accommodate our needs , really appreciate the kindness and effort shown. One small area for improvement would be the landscaping around the resort, which could use a bit more maintenance. Overall, my family and I are very satisfied with our stay and would happily come back again. Thank you for the thoughtful hospitality!

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the front desk service was incredibly slow. It took a full 40 minutes just to check in. I arrived at 4 PM, but my room wasn't ready until past 6 PM, by which time the sun had already set. To make matters worse, the buggy service was suspended due to heavy rain, and there was a long queue just to borrow an umbrella, leaving guests to walk back to their rooms in the downpour. However, the beautiful sunset made up for it! The sky's colors were even more stunning and vibrant because of the rain. Many non-hotel guests even came specifically to watch the sunset. The breakfast spread was plentiful, and even though it was crowded, they refilled dishes promptly. There were also performances during the dinner buffet. Overall, the service attitude was excellent.

GGuest UserOverall, I'm quite satisfied. The room was spacious, and the hotel is located right by the pier. There was dedicated staff to handle luggage, though the facilities are definitely outdated and the room had a strange odor. The service was decent, but the front desk really helped us out of a bind when an unexpected situation arose on our way back.

GGuest UserOur stay at the Sagittarius Water Bungalow was absolutely fantastic! From our butler Xiao Gu to all the staff on the water bungalows and even the owners, everyone was incredibly nice. The rooms are equipped with smart Xiaomi home devices, clean and tidy. Opening the curtains reveals the beautiful 'jellyfish sea,' and the scenery is simply captivating. The food at the water bungalows is also delicious; breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner are all included in the price. Airport transfers and boat rides to the island are also covered, making it excellent value for money! We stayed for five days and four nights and didn't want to leave. The atmosphere on the island is also great, with KTV and song requests every night – the owner and his wife sing really well, by the way! The water bungalows offer a lot of entertainment, including sea fishing, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, and drone photography. The local staff (Xiao Hei) are also happy to help with photos 📸. You can even get your diving certification and go on island-hopping day trips, keeping you thoroughly entertained. We came to Semporna specifically to get our diving certification, and the water bungalow's own dive shop is highly recommended. The instructors are very responsible and dedicated. I'd like to thank Xiao Li and Instructor Mohd Rizal Baba Selleh. The prices are fair, and the teaching focuses on the safety and skills of the students, which is very reassuring. The dive shop owner's wife is also super nice. All in all, this trip was incredibly worthwhile, and we'll definitely be back! I'll also be recommending it to my friends and family 😊

GGuest UserThis is such a relaxing island, perfect for a vacation! 🌴 We went during the rainy season, which is considered off-peak, so there weren't many people. Every day at noon, there's a boat to pick up and drop off guests. We stayed for three days, and compared to peak season, it felt like there were never more than 20 guests in total. It's incredibly suitable for families with children, with shallow beaches, 🏖️ turtles, lush greenery, and an exceptionally beautiful natural environment! There are three hotels on the island, and Dragon Pearl seems to have the best facilities. They offer water villas, beach villas, and garden villas. The rooms are spaced appropriately, so you won't be bothered by neighbors. The beach villas have loungers on the porch and under the coconut trees in front, as well as hammocks, giving it a private beach feel. All rooms are equipped with life jackets 🦺, and upon arrival, there are clear signs in both Chinese and English advising guests to always wear a life jacket when in the water and to avoid swimming after 6 PM. The beach is large, the shallow water area is extensive, and the water is incredibly clear – like jelly! You can see the bottom even in two to three meters of water, making it perfect for snorkeling. Every day, island-hopping boats come to snorkel near the pier, where there's a clownfish nest. You can spot turtles daily from the pier, and the island even has a dedicated turtle hatching program, with occasional lectures and release events for baby turtles. The front desk and dive center can also arrange activities like scuba diving 🤿 and snorkeling. This was my first time trying scuba diving here, and because there were so few guests on the island, I got one-on-one instruction from the coach. I saw two turtles up close, truly within arm's reach! I even swam alongside a turtle during the ascent – incredibly lucky! For snorkeling, a dedicated staff member accompanied us with a swim ring 🛟, actively searching for turtles throughout the sea. The service for these small, boutique groups was fantastic! The island's front desk has Chinese-speaking staff, and while the dive center coaches speak English, you can always understand them through gestures and simple explanations. The reception area has a restaurant and a small shop, so the facilities are quite complete and convenient. Perhaps because it was the off-season and there were so few people, the meal options were a bit simple, but the food was delicious and definitely plentiful enough to fill you up. Finally, regarding the season, the rainy season wasn't bad at all. It didn't rain every day. We stayed for four full days, and it rained twice. The first time was at noon, a heavy downpour, but it was a thunderstorm that passed quickly and didn't disrupt our afternoon island-hopping and snorkeling. The second time was on the day we left; the rain was quite heavy, starting around 4 or 5 AM with loud pitter-patter sounds and thunder and lightning ⛈️ that you could hear from inside the room. It rained on and off for most of the morning. The temperature dropped a bit, but it was actually quite comfortable without the scorching sun. The waves were a bit stronger than usual, but I have to commend Dragon Pearl Hotel's location; as we walked along the beach, we could clearly see that the wind and waves calmed down significantly in front of the hotel. Even with the rain, the island-hopping boats for snorkeling kept coming. It was an incredibly comfortable trip! It's definitely worth visiting and worth revisiting!

BBujiarededashuThis is probably the best hotel in Semporna town. The facilities and hardware are quite good, and the service is excellent. They even offer complimentary juice in the lobby. Just a heads-up when paying the deposit: make sure to have some cash on hand, as two of our cards didn't work. We stayed in a Sunrise Balcony King Room, and the view was absolutely stunning, directly overlooking the Semporna sea, with a glimpse of the infinity pool. Sitting on the balcony was incredibly relaxing. It's also very close to the town center and the pier. There's a small mall downstairs, along with KFC, Pizza Hut, and Haijing Seafood Restaurant, making dining and getting around super convenient. This hotel should definitely be your top choice for accommodation when visiting Semporna.
