Had a pleasant stay for a short business trip. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Amenities were complete, especially the gym which was convenient and clean. Location is also strategic with easy access to nearby restaurants and conveniences. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Would definitely consider staying here again for future work trips.

The room was spacious and the air conditioning was comfortably cold, which I really appreciated. However, the carpet was dirty and there were noticeable cigarette marks on it, which affected the overall cleanliness. The shower pressure was just okay, not very strong. With some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, the stay could be much better.

The overall experience was okay. The soundproofing is extremely poor. You can hear every single sound from upstairs, downstairs, the hallway, and outside the window clearly and constantly inside the room. Service: On the first day, we arrived punctually at 3 PM to check in, only to be told that our room wasn't ready. We had to wait for nearly 20-30 minutes without any compensation or explanation. They also refused our request for a late check-out, which made the entire trip start off on a very unpleasant note.

Thank you for providing an all-in-one environment for busy professionals like me. A place where I can work, meeting old friends, and at the same time allow my 3 boys to enjoy themselves safely. The availability of both a swimming pool and a small beach, with lifeguards on duty, gave me peace of mind throughout the day. the room was also clean and convinient for us also to enjoy beautiful morning sunrise. I was able to continue my work comfortably, spending time reading and writing on my laptop by the pool, surrounded by beautiful seaside scenery while watching my son playing. The experience was further enhanced by the availability of good food at the restaurant despite busy with customer, waitress e.g Ms Shamira and all were very helpful. Added with relaxing drinks in the evening while listening to live band performances, and quiet moments of healing by the beach, resting on the sofa with the sound of the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful, e.g Mr Alex and the team, who made our stay even more pleasant. Hopefully, we will have the opportunity to come again.

This place seriously blew me away. Located above Imago mall and styled like a high-end hotel, the room felt ultra-luxurious from the moment I walked in. Yes, it’s on the pricier side — but you can see and feel where the money goes. Every detail screams premium: a Dyson hairdryer, thick and fluffy slippers, electronic blinds, touch-control lighting, and a stunning bathtub that instantly sets the mood for a relaxing stay. The design is sleek, modern, and Instagram-worthy in every corner. What truly sets this place apart is the generosity in amenities. Instead of the standard small bottled water, they provide 1500ml drinking water, plus free-flow drinking water and soft drinks to enjoy anytime. Even the Starbucks cups added a classy, thoughtful touch that made the stay feel extra special. On top of all that, parking is provided, making it incredibly convenient — especially with the mall right downstairs. This isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s an experience. If you love luxury, comfort, and those little details that make you say “wow”, this place absolutely delivers.

This hotel has been open for over 20 years, so the facilities are a bit old and the soundproofing isn't great. However, the location is absolutely fantastic – you can walk to all sorts of dining, drinking, and entertainment options. The sunset from the ocean view rooms is also beautiful. Right outside, there's a vibrant food stall and BBQ market with a great atmosphere. The staff's service and attitude are excellent.

We brought our kids, and everyone loved the activities here. We tried surfing and kayaking. The staff were very friendly, greeting and smiling at our baby whenever they saw her. There was also a live singer at the lobby bar at 7:30 PM, which our baby really enjoyed. The hotel's overall outdoor environment was great; we saw many small animals, and it was very walkable. However, the hotel rooms were indeed mediocre. We booked a Borneo Garden View room and didn't get an upgrade. Even though it was my birthday on check-in day, there were no greetings (not even a verbal one...). We had to check in strictly at 3 PM; no early check-in was allowed. During check-in, there was no information given about the hotel's activities, facilities, or restaurants. I didn't even know there was a shuttle bus! I only learned about some activities and restaurant pricing from reviews on various platforms. Until we left, I didn't even know there were mahjong and billiards rooms! After completing the check-in formalities, we waited and waited, but no one came to show us to our room. We had to drag our luggage ourselves and search for it, going quite a long way before finding it. The room was on the second floor of a small villa, so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs ourselves. It was a king-sized bed room. All the lights were controlled by a single panel on the bedside table, but some of the buttons were broken. The air conditioning wouldn't turn on, and the balcony light wasn't working. When I tried to call the front desk, the phone was also broken. I had no choice but to go out in the heavy rain to find the front desk. Someone eventually came to fix the phone, but the AC repair person wouldn't arrive until 11 PM. We had no choice but to change rooms. The front desk agreed and sent a car to pick us up. We moved to another villa, still a Borneo Garden View, but this time with twin beds. The bedside control panel was slightly more advanced. The TV in the room didn't work, and the next day, the toilet broke, constantly flushing, but someone came to fix it quickly after I called the front desk. On the night I switched rooms, I left my necklace on the bathroom counter. I had recorded a video of the room before leaving, and the video clearly showed the necklace on the counter. I didn't notice it at the time and left. It was only when I checked out that I realized the necklace was gone. I still had the key card for the first room, so I went back to look for it, but the necklace was no longer there, and the room had already been cleaned. I had to go to the front desk, and they contacted the housekeeping staff, who said they hadn't seen the necklace... In short, even though the necklace wasn't very expensive (bought on 🍑), I had video evidence, and yet they claimed they hadn't seen it... I didn't want to make a big fuss and just considered it a gift to someone. The hotel restaurants were okay for a meal, but there was a lack of information before check-in. One day, we went to the Turtle Restaurant for dinner, only to find it closed and the Kingfisher open instead. The next day, we went to Kingfisher, and it was closed, with the Turtle Restaurant open... I had no idea about the buffet prices and had to inquire each time. I think a pre-check-in guide would be much better. Attached are the activity schedules for the Kids Club and Sports Center.

The room was quite old, but luckily I had read other reviews before checking in, so I was prepared. We were notified in advance that the hotel rooms were under renovation, but strangely, there was hammering every night. It wouldn't stop until we called customer service (dial 3 on the phone) to complain. The latest it went on was until 12 AM, which was unbearable. Yet, the next day, it was the same; if we didn't call, the hammering continued. This 'wait for the other shoe to drop' management style is truly incomprehensible. The breakfast had a wide variety, but the taste was awful. The service staff, however, were friendly, especially during the busy check-out rush around noon, with countless bags. The front desk and concierge had ample staff who were proactive in helping guests store luggage, making the flow very smooth. There are hardly any dining options nearby, so we ate at the Shang Palace Chinese restaurant several times. The food was okay, just okay. The plain rice was inedible; stick to fried rice or stir-fried rice noodles. The beach and pool were nice, and the beautiful sunsets and coconut groves were unforgettable. In the lobby, I met another couple from Shanghai who were complaining about a formaldehyde smell in their room and requesting a room change, but it seemed their issue wasn't resolved.

The entire hotel feels very new and modern, which is great! 👍 I'd even say it rivals the Park Hyatt. The room size is standard, but the bathroom has excellent hot water supply, and there's a balcony facing east, perfect for catching the sunrise 🌅. Just make sure to close the balcony door tightly, or the air conditioning won't blow cold air 😞. The pool is on the sixth floor, and you need to provide your room number every time you go. The hotel breakfast is very good; I particularly recommend their chicken congee 🥣 – it's delicious, I had two bowls every day 😋. The cakes 🍰 look nice, but they're a bit sweet. There's also a SPA at this hotel, but it doesn't seem to be affiliated with the hotel; I suspect it's privately run. You need to book a day in advance, and they only accept cash, WeChat Pay, or Alipay transfers – credit cards aren't an option. A 60-minute foot massage for two costs over 600 RMB 💰. Unlike in China, there's no shoulder and neck massage; you just wash your feet, move to another room, and the massage begins. Afterwards, they provide a plate of prawn crackers and two cups of ginger tea. I found it pretty average, and the price felt a bit steep.

JJeffrey~This is a second stay after the honey moon with my wife as 2 guests 12 years ago. We returned back as a family with kids and everything was still excellent. The resort had been changed from Gayana Eco Resort to Gayana Marine Resort, while there was no more Alu Alu Chinese Restaurant and remained Macac Restaurant and Latitude Bar. Different from staying Ocean Villa previously, we stayed in Palm Villa for 2 days this time as we targeted for direct access to water with bigger room. Palm Villa was very comfortable and spacious with individual small swimming pool and non-framed ocean view. We loved the room so much. But the water level of my room was much deeper than Ocean Villa which could not stand. However this was particular good for taking a rest if we played kayaking for long time. Some guests were playing kayaking passing the room when we were sunbathing. This was interesting. The sea was clear and transparent to the rocks, but occasionally saw plastic bag and small rubbish. But overall it was still good for kayaking and snorkeling during my stays. What made us memorable included the quality of food and drink too. We had meal in all 3 periods from breakfast to dinner for 2 days, the general standard was very high that we experienced from Malay, Western to Chinese dishes. Ragu Pappardelle, Pizza, Chinese fried noodle, Malay Satay, breakfast set were superb. Thumb up for their wide selections of squeezed juice that blended freshly at bar without adding water, I especially loved the rare green apple juice and my kids watermelon. Semi-buffet breakfast also offered self-served orange juicer complimentarily so we could see 3-4 fresh oranges to 1 glass of juice. This was not common during my past experience. A special highlight was given to staff courteous and patience. All staff crossing or serving us would greet and smile, it contributed a lot to my memorable stay.

XXiaolanmaosarahThe hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...

GGuest UserThis hotel was fantastic for relaxing! I chatted with a guy at the watersports center and learned they've been fully booked lately. But since the hotel is so big and the public areas are really well-maintained, with plenty of loungers and parasols, you can easily spend your whole day lounging from morning till afternoon. Check-in was a bit slow, but everyone was very polite, and they kindly extended my check-out to 4 PM as requested. There's a beautiful big tree with silk floss flowers that I took so many pictures of. The hotel offers a huge variety of activities; if you're willing to participate, every day will be super fulfilling. Just remember to book in advance! There are also many restaurants at the hotel; note that some are not open for lunch. All the staff members are incredibly nice. It's not just Koreans and Chinese here anymore; there are quite a few older Western guests too. Breakfast is much better than at Magellan. All in all, I highly recommend it for families and friends who want a lazy, relaxing getaway.

MMuhammad Damian SanI had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Sutera @ Mantanani Island. From the moment I arrived, I was completely mesmerized by the island’s beauty the crystal clear turquoise waters, soft pearly sand, and breathtaking views felt like something out of a dream. Every moment spent there was pure bliss. What truly made the experience even more special was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their genuine smiles and welcoming hospitality made me feel right at home and added so much heart to the trip. Whether relaxing by the beach or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, everything about Mantanani felt magical. Overall, it was a perfect escape, and I truly enjoyed every second of my stay. Sutera @ Mantanani Island is a hidden gem, and without a doubt, I will be returning again in the future.

AAlisayaaI stayed at ***a Island Hotel 12 years ago, and I came back with my daughter full of anticipation, only to be utterly disappointed. There were two reasons: 1. The front desk girl in picture one was rude, arrogant, and shirked her responsibilities. After the normal check-in process on the island at 2:10 PM, we waited until 2:45 PM without being assigned a room (normal check-in time is 3:00 PM). Considering my daughter was feeling unwell with a cold, I spoke to the front desk girl about going to the restaurant to eat and rest first (the front desk staff was aware of the situation as they led us to the restaurant). When we returned to the front desk at 3:30 PM to check in, we were told there were no rooms available because we weren't waiting at the front desk. What kind of logic is that?! The truth was the rooms hadn't been cleaned, but the front desk just rudely insisted it was because we weren't waiting. Throughout, I communicated gently in English, yet I still felt the arrogance in her words and attitude. This should not happen at a hotel of this caliber. I saw other Chinese guests also having trouble getting rooms. I didn't want to argue and ruin my mood, so I immediately contacted Ctrip's dedicated customer service. Junjun was very professional and patient in resolving the issue. Finally, the hotel manager intervened and apologized, and we checked in at 4:45 PM. Once the manager arrived, the problematic front desk staff suddenly became timid; her demeanor was truly disgusting. 2. The room's cleanliness was poor. There were various hairs in the bathroom, and the bathtub still had uncleaned stains. The hotel's large bathtubs are a feature, but regular disposable tub liners don't fit; you need extra-large ones. The hotel's compensation included a room upgrade and a complimentary dinner. The hotel environment, and thanks to Ctrip for helping us get checked in smoothly. The hotel's natural environment is still excellent, quiet and comfortable – that's why I've missed this hotel for so many years. The main guests are still Caucasians and Koreans, with a smaller proportion of Chinese. The restaurant is quite good, especially the chef's skill.
