Shengyou Temple

Shengyou Temple is also called Lama Temple. It is called "Bogda Xiagesong" in Mongolian and "Jijinling" in Tibetan. It is located 1.5 kilometers northwest of Zhaosu County. It was first built in Chahan Wusun Township in 1620. Later, the Left Wing Eleuth Tribe of the Mongolian Nationality selected the site many times and invited 80 skilled craftsmen including Li Zhaofu from Beijing in 1894. It took four years and cost 100,000 taels of silver to build the temple. The architectural style of Shengyou Temple has the characteristics of the integration of Han culture and Tibetan Buddhist culture. The temple faces south and has 8 existing buildings. At present, the temple has four major activities every year, among which the fifteenth day of the first lunar month is the most grand. In 2001, it was listed as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units and a national 3A Attraction.
