Had such a healing and relaxing time!!!!!!!! If I ever come back to Yufuin, I'd love to stay at Mebaeso again. Pros: The accommodation is beautiful right from the entrance, the Kaiseki dinner was delicious (especially the sashimi), the staff were friendly, and the private family bath was incredibly romantic!!! Cons: The private family bath operates on a first-come, first-served basis without prior booking, so it was hard to catch it when it was free. The rental bicycles felt poorly maintained (chains were all rusty, and the seat wouldn't stay fixed, plus one brake was broken).

It was much better than I expected, and the food was neat and delicious! Plus, we didn't have to wait to use the family bath! We used it in the evening and again in the morning!

There was an obvious broken fence in male on-sen (there were people walking by constantly). Even after i told this to manager in desk, i got no apologies what so ever. Other things were good, but this keep bugs me T.T

A very cozy hotel! They have a friendly guy who speaks Chinese and offers shuttle service. The room is also very spacious. I'll definitely come back next time. You can call ahead to have him take your luggage to the hotel, and then head straight out to explore!

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious! The room was clean and comfortable. There are two private hot springs; you can lock the door and enjoy them alone. There is a scheduled shuttle service. Overall, very satisfied.
