The Langham, Shenzhen

The Langham, Shenzhen 🏨 Location: Great, just a straight walk from Chegongmiao Metro Station. Service: The doormen are very sharp and attentive. As soon as guests get out of the car, they rush over to greet them and take the luggage. We booked an executive room and arrived right in the afternoon, so we went straight to the Langham Club for afternoon tea and checked in smoothly at the same time. Room: We requested a fireplace room. It was quite spacious and lovely. I am totally in love with the bathtub! The huge square bathtub is much more comfortable for soaking than an oval one—big enough for two people. Although the hotel has some years on it, the room layout and flow are very functional and comfortable. Minibar: Very unique and impressive-looking, but chargeable 😂. Dining: The Executive Lounge is not recommended. The desserts are pretty much nothing to write home about; limited selection, mediocre taste, and I just couldn't get into the scones. During Happy Hour, I rage-ate two bowls of beef brisket rice, but nothing else was really worth eating. Breakfast can be taken either at the Langham Club or the main restaurant. It's best to go to the restaurant first for the Lanzhou beef noodles—you definitely have to try this as it's truly delicious, paired with a dragon fruit smoothie. After that, you can head over to the Langham Club for some croissants and waffles. In-room Dining: Highly recommend the hot chocolate!! I had one in the morning, one while soaking in the tub, and one before bed. So cozy and relaxing! Pool: The outdoor pool is gorgeous! Enjoyed it so much in the morning. I also checked out the indoor pool, which is also nice and 1.5 meters deep. The downsides: No welcome fruit provided, and when I asked for it, I still didn't get any 😂. Also, the hotel overall is on the lower floors, so the window view isn't that great, and the lounge desserts are subpar. All in all, though, I still highly recommend it and had a very pleasant stay.

Excellent hotel with a premium feel and superb service, highly recommended! The rooms, pool, and all facilities are very well-maintained. I highly suggest booking an executive room; the lounge is outstanding!

Whenever I return to Shenzhen, I usually choose to stay at a hotel for a night before heading back home. Perhaps it's the familiar feeling I get from The Langham. I remember back in my student days, everyone would love to meet up for afternoon tea here when they came back to the country. Now, with a mall right next door, dining options have become super convenient. The concierge was quite good.

The breakfast was plentiful and the room was very comfortable, but there was a strange smell in the hallway. You had to hold your breath from the elevator to the room. The staff explained that it was caused by newly replaced carpets, fortunately, the smell didn't affect the inside of the room.

My first time at The Langham, it's a mid-to-high-range hotel, so the service is definitely top-notch. I booked it for a birthday celebration, and they arranged flowers on the bed and gave us a mini cake. The breakfast had a great selection and tasted good, and the restaurant restrooms were very clean.

It's been over a year since my last visit. It feels like all the executive lounge staff are new, I didn't recognize anyone. But the service was as excellent as ever. Before checking in, I noted that my husband's birthday was the next day, and the hotel decorated the room a bit and gave us a small cake 🧁. The only downside was that I forgot to press the 'do not disturb' button during our nap, and a cleaning lady rang the doorbell to ask about cleaning satisfaction, which woke up our family of three.

They upgraded my room to the 19th floor. The room was spacious with great soundproofing, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered a nice street view. The hotel staff were very friendly and the cleaning was meticulous; they even organized and secured my charging cables for me. Overall, it exceeded my expectations – excellent! Oh, and I received a complimentary flower upon check-in.

The room design and decor are very upscale, a blend of European and Chinese styles. The outdoor pool is beautiful and perfect for photos. However, check-in at the front desk was slow, and some rooms had a musty smell. Hotel management definitely needs improvement.
