Beijing Xinqiao Hotel

The biggest highlight of the Xinqiao Hotel is its extremely convenient location – directly opposite Chongwenmen Subway Station (where Lines 2 and 5 intersect). It's incredibly easy to get to Wangfujing, Tiananmen Square, and Beijing Railway Station by subway or bus. Plus, there are malls like New World nearby. However, the facilities are indeed quite dated. After all, it's an old hotel that opened in 1954, and some rooms have dim lighting. Some room types are windowless, which can feel a bit stuffy if you haven't confirmed beforehand. I personally recommend getting a room with a window. In summary, if location and transportation convenience are your top priorities and you're fine with the older style of an established hotel, this is a hassle-free choice!

Good value for money, though the facilities are a bit old and the room is quite small. They do provide ice, which is a nice touch. The location is fantastic! It's about a kilometer to Tiananmen Square, or just three bus stops away. The subway entrance is right outside, making it easy to get to the Forbidden City and the National Museum. I highly recommend the Sanbaole Bakery next door. They have fresh cakes and yogurt that are delicious and additive-free.

The hotel also features a well-equipped restaurant and gym, and the breakfast is genuinely authentic. The front desk staff is efficient and responsive, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. For business travelers, this hotel perfectly balances convenience and comfort. A reputable four-star hotel that truly lives up to its name.

The room was decent. The facilities, though a bit old, were well-maintained. The best part is its superb location, with two subway lines and a bus stop right outside. You can leisurely explore Dongjiaomin Alley behind the hotel. We walked at a relaxed pace, and it took us about half an hour to reach the flag-raising ceremony. Our room was pretty quiet, though the air conditioning was loud and its cooling performance was just so-so. When we arrived around 4 PM, the room wasn't ready yet, but they were quite strict about the 12 PM checkout time!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The front desk kindly upgraded us to a deluxe twin room free of charge, which was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent too; right downstairs, you'll find a subway station, making it incredibly convenient to get to any attraction. What truly impressed me was the housekeeping service. Every day after cleaning, the staff thoughtfully placed my daughter's teddy bear in a different spot. It was a delightful little surprise each day, truly adorable, and showed how much care and warmth they put into making guests feel welcome. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the location, room, and service. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Beijing and will recommend it to all my friends!

As a Trip.com Diamond member, I've never written a bad review in my life. This first one goes to the Xinqiao Hotel. Before booking, I saw many negative reviews, but I thought it couldn't be that bad. I booked two nights, and to my surprise, it was indeed very poor. It seems I should trust negative reviews; nobody gives them without a reason. Firstly, the facilities are terrible! The hotel is old, and the room decor is 'old cadre style,' like a guesthouse. The carpet was incredibly dirty, covered in all sorts of stains. The worst part was the broken air conditioning; it kept turning on and off all night, making me alternately freeze and roast, accompanied by loud noises. This meant I didn't get a single second of sleep all night and even caught a cold, severely impacting the rest of my trip. Secondly, the service is awful! I complained on Trip.com the first night because I couldn't sleep, but the hotel never responded or reacted in any way. The second night, I had no choice but to turn off the AC and suffer through a stuffy night. A hotel where even the most crucial amenity, the air conditioning, is broken, should really be out of business. After I reported the issues, several different hotel staff called me, and their 'solution' was always to offer an upgrade on my next stay – absolutely no sincerity or apology. Are they kidding? Who would dare go there again? The doorman was also very odd; I've never seen such a rude and lazy doorman. Our family arrived at the entrance around 11 PM, and there was no one else around. The doorman saw us but didn't come forward to greet us, let alone open the car door or help with luggage. He just turned his back, pretending not to see us! This left us with a very bad impression of both Xinqiao and Beijing. Thirdly, the bathroom is bad! The bathroom is very small and cramped. You have to shower in an old bathtub, which is very inconvenient. There were no power outlets, so I couldn't even use my hair straightener in the bathroom! In summary, this was the worst hotel booking experience of my life!

Environment: The location is very convenient, with a subway station right outside the hotel. Service: The staff were attentive and thoughtful; they even upgraded my room type for me.

This hotel is very upscale and its location is superb, being extremely close to the Forbidden City, the National Museum of China, and Tiananmen Square. It's a classic five-star hotel with great rooms, including large floor-to-ceiling windows perfect for watching the sunset. Absolutely fantastic!
