Tashilhunpo Monastery is the largest and most prestigious Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shigatse, Tibet. With a history of nearly a thousand years, it is the residence of the Panchen Lama. The monastery is filled with magnificent halls and a strong religious atmosphere, attracting many tourists and believers.

Tashilhunpo Monastery means "Auspicious Sumeru Mountain" in Tibetan. It is one of the six major Dge-lugs-pa temples.
