AYANA Villas Bali

Our negative experience on this trip was entirely due to AYANA Villas Bali. We paid over 7,000 for a villa for one night, and honestly, it was nowhere near worth the price. While the local company probably tried their best, there were many unsatisfactory aspects. First, let's talk about hygiene. The hotel has many pools, which are great for Instagrammable photos, very trendy and picturesque. However, the water quality was simply unacceptable. There were various hairs and debris floating in them. Even our child, who is usually very laid-back, refused to swim because the pool was so dirty. Besides our private pool, we visited four other pools at the hotel, including the most popular H2O pool, and were put off by the hygiene every single time. Housekeeping seemed to miss the dirt. On the first night, after turn-down service, rubbish was left in our courtyard. On the second day, we found the cake delivered on the first day hadn't been cleared. On the third day, we noticed the water from the first day was still in the kettle, and there was un-flushed toilet paper in the toilet. Finally, management seemed to take action and sent people to clean our pool. Next, about the spa. I booked a spa treatment three days in advance via the official AYANA Villas Bali app. However, the day before, I was suddenly told that my package required a minimum of two people and that I had to pay for two to use it, despite already having received a confirmed time and price for one person. Regarding the kids' club, AYANA Villas Bali offers childcare. I left my child at the kids' club for no more than three minutes when they fell off the slide and fractured their leg. The kids' club staff only check children in; there's no one supervising them. Whether it's good or bad seems to be pure luck. If they can't provide proper supervision, they shouldn't offer this service. Also, to be fair, although it's marketed as the largest kids' club in Bali, it's essentially just a ball pit. My child said it wasn't fun. The kids' club at Mandapa, where we also stayed, wasn't big, but my child looked forward to going there every day. Furthermore, going to Rock Bar at 5 PM is not romantic at all. It's incredibly hot and sunny, and everyone hides under umbrellas. If you want to take photos for Instagram, just go quickly and leave. There's a long flight of stairs to get in!!! To sum it up, if you want a private experience or a sense of seclusion, definitely do not choose AYANA Villas Bali. You will absolutely regret it. There are four hotels sharing facilities, with people coming in batches.

Beyond the excellent accommodation, the hotel offers a fantastic array of activities and facilities, making it a truly great holiday destination. We thoroughly enjoyed the lively After Rock bar concert in the evening. In the morning, the golf experience was a blast. All the swimming pools are beautiful, and the sea view is stunning! There's even a museum to explore. Ayana Resort is definitely worth a return visit.

The Ayana Hotel was fantastic! They even upgraded our room. The room itself was absolutely amazing. I loved the outdoor shower design, and the flower bath on the first day was a lovely touch. The outdoor pool and gazebos really created some wonderful memories for our family trip. The only issue was the water quality throughout Bali, which is really poor; I constantly felt like there wasn't enough purified water. But the hotel itself had no problems at all. I almost didn't choose this hotel because it's so popular on social media, but it turns out I made the absolute right decision by picking it!!!

For three adults with three breakfasts, Ctrip's quoted price already included an extra bed. So, upon entering the villa, an extra bed had already been set up in the living room. The private pool in the villa isn't small (pic 3), but there are no lights in the pool, making it unsuitable for swimming at night. The view looking down from the cliff is stunning (pic 2). The elevator down to the bottom of the cliff is fantastic. However, the beach at the bottom isn't great; it's all pebbles (I've been to the paid beach at Uluwatu, and it's also all pebbles). The sand is coarse. The Rock Bar directs villa guests to the topmost circular observation deck (pic 1). However, if you try to book via the Ayana app, you'll find you can't get the good spots. This is because no matter how early you book, the best seats on the circular observation deck are reserved for Europeans. If you're Asian, they won't let you sit in the prime spots. I went very early but was still assigned a seat partially obstructed by a pillar. Europeans who arrived later were directly guided to the best spots. Two Korean couples even got the best seats after arguing. Also, Dava Restaurant (exclusive to villa guests) is located behind the villa lobby, next to the infinity pool. The food is good, and there are live singing performances in the evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for villa guests. No reservations are needed; you can just walk in. The buffet in the non-villa area has a decent view, but the food is mediocre, it's crowded, and the restrooms in the restaurant tend to be dirty. If you don't mind, one visit is enough. Another positive point is that the deposit was directly deducted from our expenses (unlike at Bulgari, where they don't deduct the deposit from your bill, and it takes two weeks to get it back).

We got a free room upgrade and a complimentary cake for my child's birthday. It was a fantastic experience! The butler booked Rock Bar for us, and the seating for villa guests was excellent. The butler was very responsive and provided great service!

The environment and food are excellent, with a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Since this was our first stop, we preferred not to go out much, making it the perfect hotel for a relaxing, 'lazy' stay.

Absolutely blown away! This is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The experience completely surpasses even the Maldives or Hawaii. From now on, whenever I come to Bali, it's Ayana all the way.

I had high hopes, but there were some disappointing aspects. The second-floor room was fine, but the first floor reeked of mold, making it almost impossible to even enter. Since there were only two of us, we didn't use the first floor, and exchanging rooms seemed like too much hassle, so we didn't request it. However, considering the peak season price for one night, it's quite a shame. The other services were good, though.

The room wasn't cleaned all morning, and when we returned in the afternoon, the housekeeper came to clean it. There were only 6 small bottles of water in the room, which we quickly finished, and they weren't replenished in a timely manner. The housekeepers didn't seem to smile much; compared to other hotels in the same price range, they came across as quite cold. While the environment here is great, like a villa, the service is more on par with a business hotel. If you're looking for truly exceptional service, you'd be better off booking a hotel that's entirely villas.
