Me and my husband were there for honeymoon. We requested a early check in and this was refused because no rooms were available they said. However the stayed got better and they offered us an upgrade of the room and theu prepared a little gift. The breakfast is amazing and one of the waiters Larissa Almeida was very helpful

The wonderful view from the balcony makes up for a lot, but objectively, the hotel is quite old. The rooms smell damp, and it's a maximum 3-star property. On the plus side: the hotel is right on the coast, the breakfasts are good, and the staff are friendly.

Honestly the beach is nicer further down close to posto 5. But I guess this is also by the beach. Just be careful when booking a room - if it doesn’t mention sea view you will be facing another building. This should be made clearer in room descriptions. The sheets are a luxurious cotton sateen. Loved the lux feel of it.

Amazing hotel. Close to everything. The breakfast and the amenities live up to the whole experience of Rio. A special thank you to all the staff but especially Sascha. This guy really makes you feel welcome.

This was my fifth time at this hotel . Both my husband and I always enjoy staying here ! The best - as good as the amazing views of the beach - are the staff .  It is incredible that most servers , check in people , luggage bellmen remember us ! They are all so kind , efficient and friendly that they make us feel part of their family !  Can’t find words to describe how much we enjoy staying at the PortoBay , Copacabana !

Overall, I don't think it's worth the price. Especially the Wi-Fi, it's incredibly bad, utterly absurdly bad. First, the speed is ridiculously slow!!! Second, everyone can easily access the hotel Wi-Fi, so security is a problem! As for the bedding, I don't know what the designer was thinking. 🤷
