The hotel is in a very convenient location, situated in the heart of many attractions in Kunming. The bed was cozy and comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay.
However, guests should exercise caution upon entering the room. It is highly advisable to carefully inspect the room condition and report any defects to the staff immediately. Otherwise, there is a risk that damages may be attributed to guests upon check-out, potentially resulting in additional charges.
In our case, shortly after check-in, we noticed that the shower hook was loose and part of the shower head was already damaged. As the issue did not significantly affect our stay—we were still able to use the rain shower—we chose not to report it at the time, especially considering the hotel’s relatively low price rate.
Unfortunately, after check-out, the hotel contacted us and requested a payment of 30 RMB for the damaged shower head, claiming that we were responsible. While the amount itself was not significant, we were disappointed by the situation and the assumption of fault. The hotel stated that all rooms are inspected and provided in good condition, which, based on our experience, was not the case.
Overall, while the location and comfort were satisfactory, this incident left us with a negative impression regarding the hotel’s room inspection process and handling of guest concerns. In the end, we agreed to pay the 30 RMB charge. However, this should not be interpreted as an admission of responsibility for the damage. Rather, it was due to our oversight in not reporting the defect upon arrival, which unfortunately left us without sufficient grounds to dispute the claim.
