The scenery is quite spectacular. Xu Xiake, the renowned traveler of ancient times, loved to explore and wrote of Guifeng, "The wonder of Guifeng's peaks surpasses even Yandang Mountain," comparing it to Yandang Mountain, one of the Three Mountains of China—a high standard indeed. The overall physical activity wasn't as strenuous as Huangshan or Wuyishan, but the weather was incredibly hot. The direct sunlight was unbearable, even walking on flat ground was difficult, let alone climbing stairs. I wouldn't recommend going during the day; I was completely exhausted and even suffered a bit of heatstroke. The experience wasn't as pleasant as in spring or autumn. After all, 36°C+, no wind, 70% humidity + long sleeves, long pants, and sun-protective clothing = climbing a hill in a sauna. Additionally, I personally suggest against buying the package ticket. The package includes entrance ticket, sightseeing bus ticket, and boat ticket. If you change your itinerary and don't take the boat, getting a refund for the package ticket will be very troublesome. Staff explicitly stated that their system cannot directly determine whether a tourist has taken the boat based on their ID card information. They would have to take our photos to the visitor center and show them to the dock staff so they could confirm based on their memory. If we didn't go to the visitor center, they would have to report our departure time to check the surveillance footage, contact Ctrip (the travel agency), and then Ctrip would contact the scenic area before a refund could be issued. This is quite troublesome for both tourists and staff. Therefore, it's better to buy the tickets separately. If you use them, you can get a refund online. Even outside of holidays, you don't need to buy in advance; you can buy them when you need them. This is the only aspect I find very unintelligent; it's the first time I've seen a 5A-level scenic area rely on staff to remember whether tourists have used boat tickets... Everything else is fine.
